Well you just removed the UK and the US, and Canada isn't all English-speaking, so what do you expect? :P

Actually I think Australia would manage to survive.

I'm thinking Twilight Zone type shit. Like everyone turns around one day, and everyone in those countries is just GONE. All the cars are parked, the airplanes landed, the nuclear power plants safely shut down. Everything is pristine. There are just no people. The world reaction is:

"What the fuck?"

And five seconds later...

"Grab the loot!!!"
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! Sure we can. But if they are completely removed, rather then say becoming ultra isolationist, and then most of the remaining top nations like Canada and Japan would see their economies collapse. So it would very likely be a second or third rank nation that would rise up.

Australia would probable manage to survive.

We have huge quantity of primary resources. More than enough food to feed the entire country, and so much raw materials we dont know what todo with them.

The 3 Uranium mines we have are limited not by ability, but by peace time restrictions and we could flood the world wide uranium market with ease.

Our own internal economy is incredible resilient, and if Australia ever actually becomes a producer of comsumer goods (instead of mass exporting raw materials) it would give a huge advantage.

Not to mention, ground based attacks from the North have the problem of getting anyware actually usefull. And air attacks, typicially dont have the combat envelop to reach anything of importants from bases in Indonesia.

Modern military is poorly geared to make a sucessful assault on Australia.

Invasion via water is practically the only option. We do have some crappy subs which could be rushed into operational status if needed, and we do have a fair sided navy (simply to cover our teritorial waters).

However sabatage & Espionage missions are another matter. We have a number of over centeralized services which you can effect for little effort.

In that case the countries on the immediate borders of the eliminated powers (i.e. Mexico and Canada, Spain and Germany, etc.) will end up with a huge advantage from the siezure of abandoned industry and resources. All they have to do is come up with the workforce to tap it.

OK, just to clarify. Imagine all the nations aforementioned as world powers just magically disappear, like they'd never been inhabited. Their natural resources are put back where they came from, which means all manufactured goods go back into the ground. All military equipment not sold to other countries dissapears.

Congratulations, you've just ended human civilization as we know it. A scenario where those nations experienced a major fall from power, but still existed, would be more survivable. But, magically disappearing these nations and all that they have produced would cause the Mother of All Headaches.
