Or one should not laugh at the fact that Andromeda survived being inside Cetus when her own core exploded at best a kilometer from her hull. Even if she soaked up only a tiny fraction of that total explosion she took a lot more than is needed to collapse the shields of an ISD II.
Wooooops! But less than 20 Mega-ton missiles are enough to blow Holes in her Hull Why how do we reconcile this?
Why Dialogic is greater than cannon of coures
She was no baddly damage by the expolision so there must be some problem with the visuals, 20 Mega-ton missles blow holes in the hull according to DIALOGE
I might get to like this fucked up thing where its reveresed

Yeah, but were the shields up against these 20 MT missiles?

The hull might be less resistant to kinetic impacts than thermal or directed energy. She took some damage in the blast but not an outrageous amount considering she surfed the blast wave out of the mouth of Cetus after the core went off. We have a few other instances in "An Affirming Flame" and "Widening Gyre" where Andromeda took far more powerful hits from explosions than what kinetic missiles cause in damage with very small amounts of damage in both cases.

As close to a policy that they've come out with; it's something that they've repeated and reinforced several times when questions about the visuals have been brought up.

You assume a shitload on how the core works though, it's some excotic matter thingamajig, there is nothing that says it should be a conventional explosion that was survived.
Those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who did not.
still doesnot matter, cause as the beginning of the post, both ships are seperated by 5AU ( more than the 3 Au that I was using as an example) The fact is that the ISD knows about the Andromeda for over an 30 min before she detects the ISDII..
The Andromeda never get to eject her slip steam core.. Cause while she acknowledging the present of the ISDII, she still a Cloud of C60, cause the ISD has ambush her and blew her to dust..
There is no getting around it, The anromeda is toast.. The fact is that the An ISD will have more than enought time to release boardside after boardside before the Andromeda is any wiser...
But on the subject of Slip core explosion
We never saw the PAX eject her cores, just Harper report that they were gone.. Also we donot know the size of the Planet that was destroy, or if 1 or 2 core was used....
Also the mechanism of the planets destruction, it was exotic matter.. Monopoles eat protons and create positron, so maybe it was destroyed by some weird particle interaction or by the tidal stress you said would destroy a ISDII..
Proof:
The Neitzchen dumping their cores in Bunker Hill caused Slip portals to open, small explosion, but not a massive explosion?..
The AI planet that the Andromeda save from a PSP by opening a slip portal was said to have taken damage from the event.. Maybe the tidal forces ( what planet would survive the tidal forces generated by even a 1000 G's gravitational field) that you would destroy the ISD is responible for destruction of the planet by the PAX..
Even the the gravity field (1 G) of the earth is more than enought to create tidal forces that would destroy the moon if it got close enought...
Granted the Slip stream core causes a explosion ( must be in the low megatons since no ships was destroyed by the explosion) but as seen in "bunker hill" not a massive world shaking one..
The Fact is the Antimatter would have killed the beast in large enought amounts ( remember the statement of the fact that the beast eat normal matter) so the Slip core was poison (exotic matter is not normal matter) and was the reason Dilan throught the tactic would work, that with the massive gravitation force would have killed the beast. Pure energy seem to have no effect.. ( the maru dump her AP tank and resulting explosion had no visible effect ). and the explosion of the slip core was more of a danger to the andromeda than the beast..
In either case An ISD would easily survive such an intense field and due to her shielding and armor the explosion that the core would create.. Neutronium is tougher than Fullerene, and shields are too...
