I have fired many different types of weapons from the .22 short to the .50 cal M2 to the MK-19 40mm automatic grenade launcher to the MK-153 SMAW (83mm) Rocket Launcher.

If I listed each and every caliber I would be here all day.....

The only Garands I saw in the Navy were the lead filled ones we had to march with in bootcamp. The one that I've shot belongs to my dad. He got it from one of those government programs where they sell you stockpiled weapons that have never been out of the box for cheap.

The M-14 was still in use on a lot of ships for quarterdeck watches.

On my ship the Master at Arms carried 12gauge shotguns and .45s.

Of course we had Marines onboard as well and they had plenty of "Marine type stuff". :D

.22 rifle and this monstrous thing called a twenty gauge shotgun(Single barrel, thank god). I'm a Boy Scout for crying out loud.

And I'm a decent shot. Though I'll leave the shooting to my fiance, I think, whose had more practice than I.

A 20 gauge? You do realize that the smaller the number, the bigger the gun. Like a .410 shotgun isn't nearly as big as a 10 gauge shotgun.

BTW, a single barrel 20 gauge is going to give more recoil than a semi-automatic.

All I know is my shoulder smarted for a while after firing that thing. If a semiauto gives less, that's great.

Yes I've fired a few guns, mainly the AK-47 clone I had in the army.
And I was trained to fire a belt-fed machine gun too.

Now that 20ga... ~80-90% hit rate on both trap and skeet. heavy as fuck, and kicked, but not too badly.
Are you saying that a light weight 12-gauge kicked less then a heavy 20-gauge? Isn't that... backwards?

Could depend on the load, but yes. The lower the number, the larger the gauge.

IIRC, the largest gauge commonly availible is 10, but there have been 6-gauge shotguns made. They're exclusively duck guns, and you have to mount them onto your boat.

I've seen ammo for everything down to 1/2 Gauge (which looked like a small tank round) but I'm not sure what exactly they fired out of.

Yes. Semi-automatic pistols, pump action and semi-automatic shotguns, semi-automatic rifles, and on a visit to a cousin in Mexico I fired a fully-automatic AKM (I am unsure of whether or not such a thing is legal, but I don't think that matter).

I'm a passable shot though I never loved the devices in general, so I don't purchase them. Of edged weapons, on the other hand, I am a big fan.

Your cousin is an evil evil evil man. Anything that fires a round that is used
by any military force is illegal to own in Mexico, even single shot rifles.

That's the corrupt politician's methods of trying to control the inevitable
rebellinons against their rule in the provinces away from mexico city.

Actually, the more recent 6 and 5 gauge guns are fired from the shoulder.
