ANDY W: Look, Keanu, we need you to cry here. Get that water works going.
LARRY W: Yeah, this is the love of your live, dude. Tear up, or at least squint or something.
KEANU: How's this? *tries to act anguished*
ANDY W: Christ. Ok, lets just wrap a towel around his head and then figure out a way to blind him in that scene with Bane.
LARRY W: Works for me.

With sometype of keeper system keeping the body & "mind" in sync. (And just like the Matrix the stupid thing is fairly "easy" to break)
No they don't. Prove this. Wong already bashed this shit around--it makes no sense.

I thought they did a pretty good job with Neo's "fried eyes" makeup and the makeup they did for Mafune after he got diced by the squids. Those gashes on his face looked really open.

I see. I've only seen the trailers and TV spots, where he talks to that "thing", so I assumed it was part of a "no one is allowed to look at God" symbolism.

From a fanboy:
*wipes tear from eye*Oh...you still believe thats what the matrix is for? Hmmm...
You can criticize the direction, the music, the acting, all of it, but when it comes to the story, that is where you must stop. You cannot criticise something you cant comprehend.
The most complex trilogy of films to be ever filmed. First you think the movie is about Neo, then you think its about Trinity, or is it Smith? Hmm, maybe this was about the Oracle all along. But of course its about anime fuelled butt kicking too.
Watch all 3 films. Then you have to do something, that most movie audiences (and critics) arent expected to do: Use your brain. Think, real hard, try to look at the films from every angle you can think of. The Wachowskis arent stupid, and they're not making these films for stupid people either. Yes, it is a Hollywood film, it must obide by conventions now and then, but these movies are so subversive, so fiendishly clever its unbelievable.
Some people think the ending depressing, some think it happy. Ultimately it is the only ending that could be. The Wachowskis have confirmed the new myth of the 21st century: We are living in the matrix.

I thought that was the Smith that used to be Sati, making it known just who he used to be.KrauserKrauser wrote:Anyone else notice Smith calling the Oracle mom?
Seraph seems to be at least as good as Neo, from Reloaded. Neo could still easily beat groups of Smiths in Reloaded.Or the fact that Seraph has beaten Smith before.
No. Well, they weren't covered in Niobe's story, at least, which is the one I played through when the game was rented. Not sure if those points are covered in the game
That's probably the case. Merv's calling Seraph "Judas" could either refer to Seraph's helping the humans. Or it could just be a query to see if Seraph was going to betray Morpheus and Trinity to him, since he asked if he had "come for the bounty" earlier.but would be interesting if Seraph were say a former agent with agents being the "angels" of teh matrix.
I'm telling you, that fight was pure Goku vs Vegeta... All we needed were fireballs and for Neo to go Supersaiyan. At least there weren't energy balls involved in the last seen, but I would honestly loved to see Krillin die again.
Later...
LOL, that exactly what i thought while the scene was playing!aronkerkhof wrote:My wife said upon exiting the theater that they blinded him more out of a need to hide half of his face so that you couldn't see how bad his emoting was during Trinity's exit scene than any real script or story requirement.Stravo wrote:This is afunny assesment of Neo in the movie as well as Keanu's 'talents'

Minus the open cockpits of the mecha, I liked this film as well.Colonel Olrik wrote: I liked this movie. Much better than the first, Smith had a clear goal and wasn't wandering around, Neo didn't whine, and Morpheus acts more than he talks. Now, for starters, two questions
Yes Neo did die, he went back to the source, which is the function of the One. The difference is that he got a different set of rewards for his actions compared to the other Ones who only got to pick who will start the next Zion generation. He got peace.1) Did Neo really die? We see some of Smith's victims ressuscitate, and we see Neo's body being taken away, no evidence it's dead. Also, the Oracle implies he may return some day in the ending scene.
The symbolism is obvious. If Smith and Neo are each side of the same equation, then when Smith revealed to Neo 'I knew what I was supposed to do, what I was meant to do. But I couldn't. I felt compelled to stay.'
Smith's inability or lack of desire to return to the source was a reflection of the choice that Neo makes at the end of Reloaded.
However in Revolutions, Neo realises that Smith has gained control of the Matrix, and could even gain control of all of the machines. The results would be the end of humanity, so he strikes a bargain. Thus as he allows Smith to assimilate him, and then is taken into the source. That is why Smith sighs 'No fair.' Neo made the choice for Smith.
Unlikely. She is just a program who can alter the Matrix, much like the Merovigan can (hotel that is endless yet discreet, and doors opening to different points in space/time anybody?) After all if Neo is to return, he would return as the One, no?2) Is the child (forgot her name) the next (or maybe THE) one? She said she was responsible for the sunset, after all.

I actually might want to see this in the cinema just so I can have the enjoyment of hating it.
Anyway, I'm glad that instead of seeing Revolutions, I spent my ten dollars on two screenings of Millennium Actress.

Maybe you should form your own opinion of the film. This is exactly what happened to Phantom Menace and Reloaded--there was initial negativity and people just accepted it and went into the theater looking only for the bad.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:I actually might want to see this in the cinema just so I can have the enjoyment of hating it.

It wasnt anything special but it was a fun flick and certainly not deserving of the criticism it recieved. I mean it was viciously mauled in every way, and after a few weeks it was like a disease, all the critics just jumped on the bandwagon and declared it racist, etc. without every formulating their own opinon. The price of hype i guess.Stravo wrote:The main difference there is that TPM WAS bad....awful, far worse than Revolutions.zombie84 wrote:Maybe you should form your own opinion of the film. I enjoyed both TMP and rev. and thought they were good films. Problem is all the hype and my own opinions on the preivous films meant that i expected a film that would be the end of all films as nothing would be as good again.
Also, the Wachowskis (sp) said before the two films came out that their special effects would "raise the bar so high there would be no bar!". have they raised it that far or are they talking shit?

i certainly found it difficult to spot some of the purely computer generated effects. Also, the Wachowskis (sp) said before the two films came out that their special effects would "raise the bar so high there would be no bar!". have they raised it that far or are they talking shit?
for example, i couldn't work out for the life of me whether hte people we could see in the mechs or were computer created dummys, or actual humans edited in...
and that final punch... the effects on that are seemless, you have to admit.

I personally think they raised the bar, but not as far as they said they would. Stuff like the agent jumping on the car and the flying Neo bits were easy to spot IMO.
