Well, I think Fett might of had to do something for about 10-15 years before he could really establish himself as Boba Fett: the Bounty Hunter.

Laying low for a few years under the alias Jaster Mareel doesn't sound that unreasonable. And from descriptions given, a Journyman Protector sounds like some form of para-military police officer, which would provide for some good initial or additional training...

Yeah, but he wouldn't need the whole deal with being thrown out for killing someone to propel him into bounty hunting. Traveling with Jango pretty well takes care of his motivation to join the profession.

Doesn't the EU now pretty much say "just kidding" and transfers all of Boba's former backstory to Jango's father?

(Thus leaving Boba's bio now a virtual clean slate so they can wait and see what George does with him in Episode III, THEN start the fanwank stories again afterward)
