i was in the office and when that thing went off i hit the deck instantly as if it was a grenade, and of course started shouting orders... it was funny, even the dean of the department listened to me, then we went outside carefully to see what was up,
Had a simliar experance at work when the old Boiler broken down in a spectatar way(Hing broke, the whole ooh 200-500 Gallon Tank fell over onto the concrete basement floor and rattled the building)
My gun was in my hand and my back to the side of the shared office door scanning the corridor outside roughly six seconds later

Lessons learnt from Ghost Recon/OFP
If theres gunfire and you aren't prone then you are too goddamn silhouetted.
Too much cover is never enough.
Stray automatic fire in the general direction of the enemy is NEVER wasted.
Do you have a full mag? Get one in right the hell now.
Dumb snipers take the high-ground. Smart snipers could be anywhere.

also learned from CS/HL, never walk outside of the shadows and dark clothing is a must... yes, i am like this.
and no i didn't figure the sniper would stand still, that's what the thermals are for, lock onto the shells and fire with the microwave gun, a couple seconds later a magazine explosion, then hit the perps with the same beam if they're still not holey, you can stun and not kill with a microwave gun.
It is going to take this to put this fuck down for the count

Someone with his Model 700 in his car trunk. The enemy can't get away THAT
fast after the shot is fired. Anyone can sight in where the shot came from, just
take a quick look at the victim and note which angle the bullet came in from,
and then sight down that angle and do your job...

it would happen like that in most places, but here's the problem MD has no civilian guns if i remember right, i'm probably wrong as i only heard that and never confirmed it.

Full-auto too, plus as you can see its easy to make a home made silencer for it
Or at least go Semi-auto and take 3 or so before moving on
Of course assuming you where a sick fuck

This guy has shown neither of that. In the worst case, he has fired
only TWO shots from each location.

For the record neither massive revisions in gun laws, nor increased security, nor anything else short of Big Brother will ever be capable of stopping something like this HOWEVER I disagree with Mr Wong's statement that such things cannot be stopped when they are done by outside groups. By neccessity those groups which are nto native to your own teritory must enter at some point and despite much that ha been said about the FBI and it surveillance groups (along with CIA ands its intel) they are very efficient and attacks from without MUST be carefully planned to have any hope of success. Despite people's asertions (and a good deal of media coverage on the issue) security is far harder to breech than you think. However the price of all this is dedicated vigilance and THAT is the difficult thing to maintain, not the funding or the technology it is the poele. gettng enough qualified people is the only hurdle one which will, sadly, never be jumped. Anyway that's my .02 and I'm tired so now to bed.
