Liquid was just fucking class anyway. Who else can shoot two F-16s down with a Hind-D in a blizzard? Plus it was the same guy who played Kanada in Akira among other things.

It was the distraction that the Colonel made for Snake...where we see someone in the beginning leave in a HIND-D.

Later they go into that the HIND shot down both F-16s.

But he was English and every bad guy from Hollywood is English and the English are all inherently evil as Hollywood has shown us and don't play fair (because they burnt churches full of innocents like in that documentary, The Patriot) and so beating a single master soldier with a nuclear equipped walking tank with twin-Vulcan cannons, ATGM missile launchers and a freakin' free-electron laser is the absolute English thing to do!
