Generally? Just added complexity for no real gain in power, in my experience.

Nah, i'm going with a 1/4 elven 3/4 human (he's human for metagame purposes, it's just part of his backgrond) weretiger. Granted, the -2 means I can't cast 8th level spells, but it's worth it.

On another note, I had to blow every single on of my gold pisces on scrolls and spellbooks but...........

I CAN CAST EVERY WIZARD SPELL UP TO 7TH LEVEL!!

Basically, although you can get some pretty nifty psionic abilities such as fatelink and mind seed that are fun.

Its -3. Level adjustment for a weretiger is +3. :P

Updated character. Swapped out three levels of Fighter for three of Human Paragon(From Unearthed Arcana), dropping my BAB and Saving Throws a little, to gain a nice bonus to one ability score. Added Gear.

Have Ungodly Constitution score now. Whee!

It's three. I checked the 3.5 Monster Manual

I don't have 3.5, and arn't getting it simply because i'm not shelling out another $90 for minor improvements.

--

DM: Since there are only minor differences between the two systems, can I just use mine for charachter creation?

Yes.
And by the way, 3.5 doesn't just include minor improvements. The bard, barbarian, and ranger classes have been massively re-worked to be more balanced, as well as some pretty large spell changes.

Yeah, Call Lightning for example, can now be used anywhere but underwater, so...you can I suppose literally have your own storm in a teacup.....

I'm not sure what class I'm going to go with....wizard is what I tend to prefer....but we seem to have a glut of them....

*Cough cleric cough*. :)
Everyone always wants to be a wizard. Why not a rogue instead, or a barbarian, or a monk, or a bard even, instead of just a bunch of fireball-hurling robe wearing logicians? 8)
Oh, and btw, I'm gonna make up some NPC's that you guys can select to play as if you so desire. *nudge nudge*.
And Keevan? See your custom title? Guess whta I'm thinking of.

Who said anything about fireballs, robes and logic....I find other types of wizard much more entertaining.... ;)

I'd say go Cleric. We need some solid divine spells, and while I can heal, it's not going to be very good healing.

I honestly don't know what to do with this PC once he starts gaining levels, though. Can I draw up an Epic Progression of Spellfire Channeler for him to try and augment it into full Silver Fire or something? Low on ideas..

Ok, but since i'm a wizard those class changes shouldn't be a problem.

Spellfire? Bah!

Extra Spell Slot all the way!

fireball-hurling robe wearing logicians?
Pu-leeze. I'm not that kind of wizard.

I'm more the "Polymorph other innocent pesents" when your bored kind of wizard.

Example: "So what if I turned that commoner into an adult gold dragon? Most people would give their left arm to be like that!"

Or I could just take over the world.........hmmmmmmm........i DO have leadership.

-----------------------------------

Oh great DM, can I start with some were-tiger followers from my leadership feat?

Oh lord. He's Chaotic Stupid.

I hope everyone realizes we're fucked if we hit a Dead Magic Zone. I may have to make a new PC and drop teh Spellfire Boy just to make sure we can handle such..

Dude, did I or did I not link you to the 3.5 SRD? You don't have to shell out a cent. Just download the frickin' thing.

Did you? I didn't see.

The SRD is NOT the rule books and isn't an accetable subsitute in any event.

I plan to stay away from dead magic zones.

As I'm into sorcerer, the question pops up: Where to add bonus spells? On Spells Known, Spells per day, or both? I don't know what the house rules are :)

Posted: 2004-03-03 05:09pm
by lazerus
The offical rules say spells-per-day.

Hello all, I'm interested in joining, but I don't know that much about the FR. Would that be a big problem?

Not especially. Its just a campaign setting; the ruleset is the same.

Alright, going with a human rogue/fighter finesse fighter sort of fellow....so those of you worried about such things, we'd still be lacking a healer.
