I think a way of spotting the difference would be the feel of the lips. Females in general take better care of their lips, they're more likely to use vaseline, chapstick, and moisturizers to keep their lips nice & smooth. Guys usually don't do that so their lips tend to be rougher. Whether or not I could actually feel this on my dick is another story.
