I'm chief cook and bottle washer where I work. In other words, I do a little of everything. Reception, accounting, shipping, etc.

??? Why not something with music? You love music, so why are you working in a restaurant? Maybe you should ask the manager if you could play a violin or something too. :P

I don't work in a restaurant. I work for a company that sells and repairs computers, does networking, cabling, etc. I didn't finish my degree, so I can't be doing anything in music. Besides, with the way schools are now, I wouldn't want to be a teacher. I'm making a whole lot more money.

I play:

The Air Guitar: Like everyone else :D Metallica Rock!

The Cello: My teacher says i'm about grade 4 but i've never taken any tests. I've been playing for about 8 years now and i think i'm about average. I never really wanted to be a big orchestra musician or anything, it was just something to do during boring school lunch breaks, and i've stuck by it over the years. I'll probably stop playing when i go to Uni as i don't think i'll be good enough to join the proper orchestra :( Apocalyptica (guy's who play Metallica on Cellos) Rock!

I can fart out a melody as well.

Had you not said before that you played viola, I still would have categorized you as a string player.
Anyways, I played a recorder in 4th grade...and I woul like to learn the following: Oboe, Cello, Piano, Bass guitar, Bassoon, and possibilty of flute and/or French horn. Trumpets, as well as most brass instruments, can be quite obnoxious...except maybe trombones, for whatever reason...hrm...? Clarinets = YUCK!
Yuck? Clarinet is MUCH better than oboe. Ick. Brass instruments are not obnoxious if played by an expert. Or at least someone who actually knows how to play it.
We all have our different tastes...anyways, I also play violin, just not as much.

Grade 4 = really good. I am about the same position on the viola, but I have actually only been playing it fore 4 1/2 years. I am just better attuned to it, I think. Also, there's no real "tests" for this...it's just a matter of how difficult the music you play is, and how well you take to it.

I would have to say that professional instrumentalists are Grade 5...I hope to be in a symphony someday....

Grade 4 is good? There's a kid 5 years younger than me that's just done grade 5. There's also a guy my age who's just done grade 8, which IIRC is the highest you can get on a cello.

I suppose it is good in a way. I think that i'm average meaning that i'm not a beginner, but don't expect me tpo be able to play hard stuff without a lot of practice.
