You have to wall slide otherwise you trigger the rest of the enemies for that level
Yes, and if they're all dead, there's little point in getting the Banshee, is there?

And wall sliding doesn't work; you have to use the turret for the jump off the bridge.

I have yet to manage it with the turret. However I have made it by going to the bottom of that cut out part of the rock.
And once you grab the Banshee you fly knocking off all the other ones so you can use them later. Clear the bridge and knock your banshee to the floor below and then proceed with the level. You have all of the enemies and three banshees to use.

Someone thinks Halo is better than Perfect Dark?
We need to put 'Don't ask 'whats so good about Halo'' in the announcements. Haloites can't explain it, normal people don't care. We've all seen it before.

Anyway, this thread is supposed to be about Halo 2.
Physics is more important than graphics IMO.

Eh. What's the most important part on a car, the wheels or the engine? Without the engine, the wheels are useless, but without the wheels, the engine can't do anything but make a lot of noise.
Realistic physics are certainly the next major implementation for games, as opposed to higher poly counts, sharper textures, and the plethora of [blank]-mapping techniques, but it's not like one can just throw the graphics aside and just dump a physics engine onto a disc.
The best games are the ones that have the best balance between all its various factors. Great phyiscs in a crappy game still yields a crappy game.

Wall slide? I've tried riding the turret down like a video showed but I always die mid way down. Wich side of the bridge do I jump and is it left or right on that side?

Most of this thread seems to have little or nothing to do with Halo 2.
If I had to say what I wanted from Halo 2, it would be: an entertaining continuation of the story, longer and more involved cutscenes, and no more horrible levels like the Library from Halo 1. I don't expect to see something radically different, nor do I want to (unlike the guy mentioned in the OP).

Then you should be happy with Halo 2 from what I've heard. Its not revolutionary over the original, rather its an improvement while not doing away with what made te original good. So it should feel like a new, but familar game, not an addon.

The number of buyers has no relation to the overall quality of a game.
1.5 million people can buy it, and it still can suck

No worries about boring levels; remember that Halo was rushed out the door for the Xbox launch and Bungies has publically said that the level design was one of the things that had to be cut. I don't see how Halo 2 is going to have any of the design flaws of Halo since most of Halo's problems were time related.

One of my personal nightmares is a HALO 2 version of the Library.

Jumping! The aspect of FPSs most likey to be absent in coming generations as people realise unless you're playing UT2k4 noone hops around like a moron in combat!
But hey you place the jump card, I play the 'huge variety of weapons, even within classes, with subtle differences to encourage different play styles' card. Assault rifles that can hit within a 2m circle at 20m? OMGzor!

I'd play PD on PC, if someone ported it and cleaned up the textures. I *have* played Halo on PC, and they'd have to port it and clean up the textures for me to enjoy it.

Okay, I just beat Halo. I now thoroughly hate the vehicle physics in that game. Luckily Halo 2 has a very solid structure on them.

Heh, yeah, it took fuckin' forever to get used to the vehicle physics. Playing GTA3 was very natural and intuitve... Halo was WAY overdone. I guess I half-understand what they were going for - low-grav vehicle driving, like footage of the moon buggy... but it made the final run WAY more difficult than it has to be.
Of course, once mastered, it's disgustingly easy. I've played through every level several dozen times now... it's rare I don't pass the final chase with at least a minute left to go.
I sometimes just kill time running around the hangar at the end, shooting fools...

Another reason why i didn't think Halo was that good:
To aim a vehicle weapon you had to turn it in the directionj you wanted to fire, unlike just about every other (recent) game with vehicles in that i can rememebr where steering and aiming are independant.

Just the Scorpion... not the Warthog. And they're going to make it so you can do just that for HALO 2.
