And finally, TUF appears and Luke Skywalker gives up his whole "Waaaah, I don't want to fight the Vong, I might hurt them, and become evil and turn to the Dark Side!" routine, and Jacen gives up his whole, "Waaah, I don't want to be a warrior, I want to be some hermit that wanders around studying the force!" routine, and Jacen has that mega-force-duel with one of the Vong (I won't name him to avoid spoilers) that has uber-force-powers and has been controlling the Vong leadership, while Luke wipes out half the Vong army and takes on Shimrra himself.

Was quite cool :)

I liked NJO, and the Vong, for all the plot holes and the bio tech shitness.

It killed characters, no more invincable Solo's and Skywalkers.
It had massive battles.

Most intresting was the view into the Jedi order, and the Vong religion, both things rarely touched upon in the EU.

And alot of stuff was writtin well personally.

I loved TUF it brought a very strong ending to an even story.

Which NJO book were your favourite? Mine was either Star By Star or Destiny Way. (though the rebel books were very good but to small scale)

My favorite NJO book would be Star by Star, Vector Prime, Traitor and the Unifying Force. Two of them killed off major characters, one made me think and the last brought closure to the series.

Allaston's (rebel dream and rebel stand) are the best written, IMO. Good stuff. Though they were just a sideline to the over all plot. I think they put the series back on track.

Star by Star and Destinies Way were exellent books. The way the whole series should have been.

TFP should have ended it, because while the philosophical points of TUF was good, the story of TUF sucked. Sekot got fucking boring.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Star by Star, Destiny's Way, and TUF. All the big books of the series were the best ones (excepting Balance Point, which sucked).
