They won't be angry if you tell them why it bothers you. Just say that it's aggrevating to constantly be looked over like that. Whether they mean to do it or not, they're still doing it, and they won't stop until you speak up so they can understand how you feel.

I remember some talk-show discussing that, and the consensus was that the ring indicates the ability to commit, hence the attraction. Of course, the problem with that explanation is that if a woman can get a married man to cheat on his wife with her, then he's obviously not committed, ring or no ring. Maybe it's an ego boost to steal a man away from his wife.
