Yes, but if you've not played those games yet, and you want to see a RTS with the features you've mentioned, I've just recommended not one, but three distinct games you should get your grubby little mitts on to tide you over until you do get what you want. Plus you can use those games as a basis for what works, what doesn't, and so on.

Let's not forget Battlefield 2 is due out soon, which features the "command mode" one might be familiar with from Savage or Natural Selection.

As a bit of a side note, I looked on Amazon and you can get a copy of Hostile Waters for less than $5, including shipping. One guy is selling his copy for $.01.

homeworld plus starcraft!

the whole space 3d combat plus star craft world plus actuall control of the war. instead of the battles like they happen in starcraft, you control and such... like, say you are the queen of blades, and you wanna invade and conquer earth? you build up invasionary forces...find planet...fight defenses land... take over planet...defend your takings and other parts of your empire...choose a race or faction...possible online play...

i thought of this a long time ago so my details are funny but i think the idea got across...at least, i think it would be one sick game...
