Well Reggie didn't reveal anything in the interview. Wonder if there will be another event? Dunno.

Aries Says:

May 19th, 2005 at 12:50 pm
Don’t listen to these fakes. If you look at my post you can find something in them that shows that i’am the real Aries.

About the Revolution. It will be revealed today.I told you don’t discredit me right away. Be patient and wait. If you been paying attention to the nintendo news during this E3 the clues are there. The system has been shown behind closed doors today and IGN.com has the exclusive rights for revealing the system. If IGN does not launch the Revolution site tonight then that’s on them. I figured they will post all the new info tonight. The reason nintendo did not show the revolution during their press conference was because it is a system better to be experienced rather than seen. People who see it will pass it off as a gimmick but people who play it will fall in love with it. Wait for IGN to show the world the Revolution. If they don’t tonight then i don’t know what to tell you, beleive me or not. This is my last post. Here is my last hint to what the revolution is since IGN won’t even know yet. It is not VR or holograms but it does bring your eyes into a new world like never seen before. check google.

^this actually makes sense^

It explains the rs.ign.com domain name. It explains why Matt is being so secretive and immediately tries to discredit Aries as if he knows exactly what the Rev is, while every other major site including GameSpot says that the guy hasn't said anything that brings his credibility into question yet.

Very interesting.

We'll see how it pans out.

Could have been a fake Aries as well.

ARIES WAS RIGHT!

Well, partially.

http://cube.ign.com/articles/617/617195p1.html

IGN WAS shown backstage *JUST* like he said.

Unfortunately IGN is not telling us everything they were shown I believe, so he may have been wrong about IGN launching a site...or they might do it tonight.

G4TechTV has the IGN guy on the Live E3 showing today...

Hmm, if he's right (Aries), IGN will in the next few days launch the rs.ign.com site with some games...

I'm definitely recording the Live E3 showing.

IGN's article there is ok. It's good to hear it looks good in real life, too... But I want to see some software soon. Any software. Or the controller.

I wonder what's the deal with the controller. Why is it so secret? It must be able to do something extraordinary...

I'm betting that the controller gives blowjobs. The better you play the game, the better the blowjob is. That'll go a long way towards eliminating the "not for adults" image that Nintendo has...

Sadly, that last piece of info was fairly easily guessable once Nintendo and IGN started getting chummy a few days ago. Aries has lost my confidence. Some insider knowledge? Maybe. A good mind for figuring out Nintendo's "Real Life Puzzle Game"? Certainly. But the real deal? I don't think so anymore.

I have to admit that I'm getting a tad worried.

Possibilities:
1) It will still happen. Some rumors are claiming it will be at 8:00 PM.
2) Nintendo realized that Microsoft's hardware was far from finalized (They mention that in Miyamoto's interview), and because of that, they decide to wait until the X360 and PS3's hardware is finalized before revealing all. Aries did not know of the last minute change. This seems likely if you read Miyamoto's interview. IGN was still showed some stuff backstage as Aries said.
3) Aries is a fake, but the guy is a genius at predicting stuff. Everything else was just a huge coincidence.

If you read the Miyamoto interview it is really making me wonder if they won't show it at E3 this year at all. 2 might be a possibility.

So far not one thing Aries has said has failed to come true or given me any reason to doubt him (though he only has one more day left for his "E3 will prove me true" statements), so I'm not dismissing him yet, but I am getting a bit skeptical.

Hmm...
In the last couple of minutes, IGN has released a number of interesting articles regarding Nintendo and the Revolution, although so far no specs or screenshots have been revealed (from what I've seen, at least). Here are the links:

Nintendo Benches Samus
New IP for Revolution
Worldwide Zelda Launch
Revolution Not Final name
Last Minute Revolution?
More on Revolution Soon
Revolution Launch Schedule
Nintendo on Sony and Microsoft

Precisely what Aries said. A new IP intended as a Halo killer. Metroid not a launch title.

Very interesting. I'm leaning back towards Aries again.

A post on another board:
I just saw G4 present "the Regginator" and the creator of Zelda, and I was amazed at what nintendo was doing, so if you have G4 record the show or watch it... you must see it... it starts about an hour in so you'll have to wait, but
Reggie said the might show the Revolution's controller off tommorow, and I MUST SEE IT... i have to know what it is, but once again we might not.
I'll watch the G4 thing, I recorded it earlier. If this guy is correct and Reggie did in fact say that, it could mean that Aries was correct but it just got pushed back a day!

Hmm I just saw a pic of a butt-ugly controller in a small section of the newspaper that went over the Revolution. I really hope that wont be the controller for the Rev. Buttons looked weird and a really ugly color. The design nothing like the beautiful console itself.

Actually, after some google it looked liked the same like the gamecube but with an ugly color and with revolution printed on it. Probably fake

Frankly, given the fact the Nintendo have covered their bases for backwards compatability with those GC controller ports, I'm starting to lean back towards a Power Glove style controller for Revolution. Possibily coupled with a headset microphone.

I wouldn't mind a return of the Power Glove...even as a wireless peripheral for the Revolution (wouldn't that be sweet?).

I'm hoping we hear something more from Nintendo at today's showing, since it is the last day of E3.....

So will it definately be backwards compatible with ALL Nintendo systems, or is that just unconfirmed speculation? Because that would kick fucking ass.

well, yeah. A few days ago already. All NES, SNES and N64 free for download + it can read GC disks. And the latest pics show you can plug the GC controller in it

Free for download? Where have they confirmed that? All that was confirmed free was the online gaming.

I think he's reading into the Nintendo CEO's comment at thier press conference, that there would not be any extra charge for first party online games, as far as Nintendo is concerned.

Honestly, listening to the Conference lance night (downloaded it from ign's stream finally) I'm hoping they show us some more today on the Revolution...or IGN's stuff goes up by the time I come back online tonight.

I don't want to wait for anymore now we've seen the prototype console.

Hmm. In that case, it better be. If its free i'll buy the console regardless if the new games suck or not

Someone is dreaming, the online service is free, the old games will probebly NOT be free.

Probably a fake, there's tons of them.

Here's an interesting one. Possibly fake but it explains why it would need controller plugs for GC controllers, and while it looks uncomfortable at first when I think about it it could be really awesome.

While this concept design is ugly, I like the idea of a controller in each hand. Just take a GameCube controller and cut it in half, maybe modify it to be a bit more ergonomic. You can grip and tilt the controllers like you had two joysticks in your hands for a fighter game. Use them for boxing gloves in Ninty's new Punch-Out! game. etc.

I'd rather it be the Power Glove that was mentioned a little bit ago...

I like the two separate controllers for each hand idea, particularly since you could presumably decide which controller to use in each hand, and thus have user-end versatility that wasn't present in previous gaming systems.

I'm imagining a game like Halo or Star Wars Battlefront.

Imagine this. The analog stick moves the character. Each hand controls a gun. Brings a whole new meaning to dual weilding when you control the gun by tilting and moving the controllers, and each controller's gyroscope controls one of the guns while the analog stick controls movement.

It would also be sweet for a Punch-Out! game since Nintendo patented a new one IIRC, imagine each controller being a boxing glove and you have to move them to block or swing.
