I know. I was with the prince and about 5 other guys and when they moved it was just by jerks while I seem to be standing still and then teleported by leaps and bounds. But when the fighting starts it seems like I am the only one that seems to be staring at the walls unable to move. My computer exceeds the recommended specs by a magnitude or more and I use broadband but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Nevermind. A good old fashion reboot helped me out.

When does one leave noob-world?
I'm level 7 now, and I thought after I get level 8 done and these "Across the Wall" and Resurrection signet quests done, I might leave. Is this a sensible move, or will I be slaughtered mercilessly in the "real world"?

I don't think you can get much higher than level 8 or 9 in Pre-Searing Ascalon. Eventually you'll have completed all the quests and will be getting no XP from the enemies you meet, or so little that it'll become boring.
Most people tend to get impatient and hit the academy somewhere between level 4 and 6.

Level 8 is pretty high. Getting money/resources for new armor is a good idea in the pre searing world. How hard it is depends on your secondary class. Ranger , Mesmer & Monk are the best secondary classes for a necro.

Now I'm a level 8 guy in the big world. And I managed to minimise the embarrasing moments of dying so far to a minimum

I've chosen Mesmer as the second class, and there are mightily useful skills. Still have to get a feel for them (and stay away from melee while doing it *g*).
Still looking for stuff to get me a new armor...

I am now Level 4 in the "real" world and I was wondering how do I dance?

/dance in the text window. There should be a card with a lot of the emotes that came with the game packaging, there's quite a few - and some that arent even on the card (perhaps added later? One feature of this game is that they like adding content, new quests, even new areas etc).

My Necro does a very weird heavy-metal headbanging dance

Now if only Dye wasn't so fecking expensive, I could dress him in style...

Does that mean you're good?
I still trudge along and try to get the quests done. Though I slowly get the hang on this cooperative missions *g*

You'll find the game a lot more interesting once you get into PvP. Suddenly you're given a lot more motivation to push on and get better items and spells.

Well, yes, I kick ass, but it's most dependent on your teamates.

Yeah, a lot of luck is involved when you're going with a random team. And you know you're in trouble when you see the opposing team rolled 2 or 3 monk primaries - if you do win, it'll be a long match.

Quite true, although monks tend to die very fast when you hit them with 6 AoEs in the span of a few seconds.

So, what's with roleplaying and PvP characters?
I try the role playing one, but is a PvP one a good thing to have or desirable?

Well, I have one level 18 character so far but I'd still consider myself quite new to the game. Personally though, I've only used PvP characters to test out ideas and spells applicable to the RPG game. So far I prefer PvP through the RPG game.

A PvP char is just an insta-max char for jumping straight into the PvP scene. I tend to favor two RP chars and two PvP chars at any one time; if I get bored working through the 'campaign' I just hop on a PvP char and do some arena or Tomb battles.
As mentioned, they're great for testing builds.

Currently only have one character. I don't feel like trudging through all the noob-world again this soon after leaving it. But I might...
For this guild thing, a question: what geographies resp. time zones we all reside? I am the token German I think....

I'm in Colorado, which is GMT-7.
And PvP chars completely bypass the noob-zone and all that. They're total end-game characters, ready to jump into PvP immediately. So in that respect they're great for playing the other half of the game while your RP char is still noobish.

GMT + 12 here, I play at fairly random times though.
