I'll have to play s'more. When I was on it was fun, but I got frustrated because I kept getting explosipwn3d. Do you know how annoying it is to be charging someone with a saber and have a thermal detanator go off at your feet unexpectedly? Not fun.

that, but what I think is fucking anoying is those goddam rocketlauncher humpers who must use the Plex always even if their in close contact (and case you were wondering, I was in prosess of changing to sabers when Praxis got me, so that why I have the plex in that pic).

I got briefly on the server today, for about 15 minutes, during lunchbreak and I was playing a light jedi on Korriban Assault. It was really frustrating to be blown into pieces each time I tried to climb the temple stairs.

When JA first came out people were already complaining about explosives on Korriban. The thing is, without explosives the map would simply take too long. You already get 30 minutes as it is. But try killing a bunch of people speeding by you with only a saber. Or blasting through those huge walls with only a saber.
Try using the Tech class on Lightside, as she has fast regeneration and so can abuse protect, heal, teamheal, etc to survive. Saber throw mines, Force push TD's. Ultimately you may need to have somebody "sacrifice" so you can pass by the bombers.
The other thing about Korriban is that there isn't just one way up in most cases. You can sneak around with a Level 3 Force Jump character or using Mind Trick. Those mountains and rock stepping stones provide a way to get up there while the defense is distracted with suicide runners up the ramps.

The door tothe scepter altar was boobytrapped like hell and there were a whole lot of dark jedi with explosives around the door and along the ramp .... Sometimes I didn't even make it half the way.

Then defense was doing their job.

The trick is to send multiple classes going at it from different angles. They will be overwhelmed if you're quick.

Simple trick. Mind Trick level 3 + Speed level 3. They won't see you coming and you can speed through, just watch the floor.

Nitpick... the Light Jedi Scout has Speed 3 + Mind Trick 2, I think that's what you mean. The Light Jedi Heavy Weapons has Speed 1, and the Tech has Mind Trick 3.

Tweaked up the server. The bots should be much more challenging now.
Another round of Jedi Master is in the rotation (instead of just 1, it's 2) and CTF5 (Factory).
And watch your suicide spamming!

Got on for awhile last night. I did alright on Korriban seige.
Then Hoth and Tatooine came up, and I got my ass handed to me repeatedly. How do you use a character's special skills, such as the one character who can cloak and how Boba Fett can fly?

Visit my web page
"Strategic Academy" (see the
"Siege Guide") it gives some good tips and rundowns of the various game modes (and links to other sites with more info too).
http://strategy.jediknight.net/jka/
But in brief, the Cloak is possessed only by Lando (the Rebel Scout on Hoth/Tatooine). "Use" item to cloak, again to uncloak.
The Jetpack is a built-in ability of Boba Fett (Merc Scout on Tatooine only). Hit "use" in mid air.

I might be wrong, but are not all the ones with colored names bots? If not

perhaps someone would be kind enough to teach me how you add color to your character's name.

Use a ^, then a number.
Ex.: To change my name to all red, I'd open the console and type:
The useable numbers are from 1 to 7 I believe.

No, not all the bots use colored names, and in fact humans can do so quite easily. Here is how you do it (there's numerous pages on the web about it since it's the same method in all Q3 engine games):
When typing your name go:
^#
(^ = that's the little "carrot" over the 6 key on my keyboard)
# = put in a number other than 8 or 0.
Here are the other colors with the numbers:
^1=Red
^2=Green
^3=Yellow
^4=Blue
^5=Cyan
^6=Violet
^7=White
^9=Red
You can mix 'n' match and have lots of colors in your name if you wish.
8 or 0 gives you black but black won't show up in the player menu unless a certain mod supports it (OJP Mod doesn't). Black names are actually a glitch in Q3. They're harder to read on dark backgrounds so were not meant to be used, but people still like 'em. Using 8 or 0 will make your name look black in the console menu (seen only by the admin or people who use /serverstatus command) but white everywhere else.
To do black, do this:
^^8 or ^^0 (yes, two carrots. You'll always see one of the carrots before your name, there's no getting around that, again unless you use a mod that allows black names as a feature)
You can use colors in your chat text too (and key binds). And black shows up in the chat just fine (well, as long as people can see it if there's a dark background!).

To answer Como's question, I know the bottom three scorers in that pic are bots. The rest I doubt very much.

Enter 67.15.13.128 for the IP and 29070 for the port.
Ie:
67.15.13.128
: 29070 (no spaces in game)
You guys might want to jump on now (3:30 CST), there's 18 people on playing CTF (I guess school's out!). Wish I could join in but I have to get ready for work.
It's Friday though so it's GAME TIME BABY!

Lord Reven what’s your server policy on people bring up the chart box and expecting not to be killed the middle of a game.
I am still very pleased with how jumped off the bridge then on my way down, pulled you off the bridge with force pull then last you were mid air pushed you in to one of the pits to stop you getting away with the flag.

IIRC there ain't one (I've been killed several times while typing something or checking the scores) and it ain't my server.
