Wait, you guys actually look at your keys while typing/playing?
Granted, while I was learning some new team binds for JKA, I did tape some paper labels onto my keyboard for convenience but still.
Pretty, but ultimately unnecessary. If you're using a specialty keyboard for some app like Photoshop you're going to have to learn that layout anyway, and when you do, you won't need the displays. Likewise with region specific keyboards other than qwerty.
One of my old keyboards is so worn that half the letters are rubbed off (and the key surfaces smooth). I hate to see what happens when too much pounding causes one or more of those keys to break, or worse, spilled coffee! And what about screen burn in?
Looks cool, but ultimately a waste of money. Oohhh ahhh factor aside.
Sure I could see this as some kind of "all in one" public workstation thing though (even though most public computers are used for just web surfing/email or word processing), and I'm sure Bill Gates will have one, but not practical to mass produce for the average consumer.
