I would love for some vital plot element for SG1 to be originally gathered from SGA, rather than SG1 pulling it out of thier asses again.
 It would be even nicer if they did the tech exchange to solve their problems in both shows. Ancient warship in SG-1 and Mark 9-s in Atlantis.

I was worried they had nowhere to go but down after laying the smackdown on the Goa'uld, Replicators and Anubis almost simultaneously... Looks like the worry is unfounded. No reset button per episode. 6 episodes in there is still no official SG-1, the new bad guys are evil Ancients with God-like powers from another galaxy, technology to collapse a planet into a black hole on the other side of an intergalactic stargate connection and use the singularity to sustain a 400 meter wide supergate.

All of these are tied together with great story & script.

I can't wait for how they resolve this, and I hope there's no cop out in the end.

Either its been the quality of my picture or they just haven;t been what they used to be in recent eps.

Best episode of the season so far, for both shows.
They probably spent most of their budget on the bigger episodes, leaving the more character-driven ones with the dregs of the account. I think this has happened in the past with B5.

Remind me again, what stops the Orii's servants just fucking earth into a black hole from their home galaxy, and laughing? :?

Such a large population they want to convert perhaps?

They use micro singularities to power the stargates. It doesn't appear to be sufficent to send gravity pulses through the gate. The Ori could connect to Earth but could send nothing through as the SGC uses an Iris. Provided no forcefield effect was occuring the SGC could shut down the connection much like they did with the last blackhole incident. Shaped charge fired at the gate to overload it.

I wonder if they have shaped charges onhand for such a thing.

Assuming of course, they lack phase-shift technology, or the device the asgard use to prevent the iris being closed, which is something I'd not be too certain about, they could, in that case, surely do it by sending a prior to earth in a cloaked snakehead ship.

Also, that shaped charge worked because they'd dialled out to the 'hole, replicating the gate-jump in Solitudes. It may not work on an inbound wormhole.

Which would explain why they didn't try that trick against Anubis in 6x01 and 6x02.

Valla better be back. She's an awesome character!

And man, is SG-1 just kickin' ass right now, while SG-A is sort of 'ehh' for me ...

I wished they made Claudia Black a permanent character. Sure, it'll seem like a job programme for former Farscape-actors, but she is just funny and brought a new element into it. Better, I think, than Carter...

There's rumors on Gateworld that SG1 is gonna become a Dr. Who and that we'll eventually have an SG1 with Vala, Cam, Teal'c, and maybe Jonas.

I don't want to get into the Carter/Vala arguement (currently lurking the Gateworld forums for that), but Claudia has played her with such enthusiasm, in such a 'quasi-camp' style, that for me, I believe suits this show.

I used to think of the SG-verse as pretty serious (and it still is compared to say the later parts of Star Trek), but now, nBSG is 'serious' and the SG-verse is 'fun'. And the way Claudia played Vala exemplified that for me.

My money says that Vallah is coming back as a Prior, perhaps saving everyone in the end (but not before a little revenge or something) with another sort of noble sacrifice (like she did this episode).

Also, while small, I'm hoping we see this Alliance group causing problems for SG:1 now and then.

They just can't waste such a good character...
And while I like nBSG, it takes "serious" sometimes to a level I don't like that much. Occasionally, too much is simply too much...

A long-running series where they change all the cast members over time. Like "Sliders" except without sucking.

A 100 mile radius for the fireball makes for a 47.45 teraton warhead.

Allow me to repeat that so that it sinks in: 47.45 teratons.

For some perspective, this is the equivlent of annihilating 2,214 tons of matter. It is just a little less then the yields of a shot from a Venator's heavy Turbolaser, and about 50 times the energy released when the asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs on earth.

My old estimates of Gateverse energy levels look more and more reasonable.

:wtf:

Careful... if you carry on like this, Stargateverse might get up to a point where it's on a par with the Empire, and that just wouldn't do... :P

I still stand by my position that Ha'taks are star frigate level, O'neil's star cruiser level, and that Anchient and wraith ships should be dueling death stars based off what they say in the show. Unfortunately, they then tend to follow that up by showing something that undercuts half of it.

Here is something interesting; the matter stream from the ring transporter with Vala in, went though the blackhole when the super-stargate was destroyed to the Prior's home galaxy.

This suggests that it is an actual stable realspace wormhole were the stargate normally operates over a sub-space wormhole.

I think we can safely say that Naquadah/Naquadriah is a Zero Point Energy source.

There isnt enough mass in the gatebuster nuke to account for all the energy.

Thats almost certainly how Naqueda and Naquadriah work in the first place. The level of power they generate and how they increase explossive yields of nuclear level events.

I wonder. If it's not against the rules for the Orii to give the priors knowledge and powers, would it be against the rules for the Alterans to take it away when they enered the Milky Way? :)
