My all time favorite game? ELITE for the C64

I think the first game we owned that I played was called "Up, Up and Away" for the commodore 64, or possibly a spectrum, where you had to guide a hot air balloon past various dangers.

Holy god, that's a long time ago. I think it was a really shitty Star Trek game that used letters to represent ships, like 'E' for Enterprise and 'K' for Klingons, asterisks for torpedoes and a flashing screen when you used warp drive.

A 'pong' standalone console from Radio Shack.
The first 'real computer' game I played a lot was some cassette loaded Star Trek text RPG on the Commodore PET at school.

I'm not entirely sure what the first game I ever played was. Possibly Mario on the NES but I can't be 100% sure. The first game I played on a machine I actually owned was a Scooby Doo side-scrolling platformer that bore absolutely no resemblance to the cartoon at all (Scooby doo walking around punching out enemies, yeah right!). Other notable games I played early on would be Rick Dangerous, Bionic Commando, and Spy Hunter from a US Gold bundle pack that came with my C64. Rick Dangerous was fucking brilliant.

My first computer was a Timex/Sinclair 1000, aka Sinclair ZX-81.
I even had the thermal printer and 16k expansion pack.
Timex announced that they were going to sell the Spectrum here in the US, but I never actually saw one for sale.

Not a clue. My fondest early gaming memories are:
Turrican 2 (Amiga)
Yesss.
Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
'nuff said
Frontier (Amiga)
In space, the only sound is the Blue Danube.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. (SNES)
Quite possibly one of the finest games ever made, and the first one I ever demanded to own.
