I had a heavy-frigate concept I blocked out - it was meant to be a little under VSDII size, with a bridge like the interdictor/enforcer class, and a few heavy turrets. Here's what I have so far of the hull form:

not quite an ISD yet, but getting there...

Fractalsponge?
THE Fractalsponge? Good lord! Your like, a Legend
among the all powerful Sci-Fi Meshers! I've seen a lot of your work
before around the web! We mere 2D doodlers bow before your niftyness!
EDIT:
And just to actually add something to this, I offer to you my rendation of
the beloved Victory-SD. The Victory-2.0!

Awesome design Crossroads. Esp like the open circle emblems. I suck at detailing my models.
Here's my new design in 3D! Although it's nothing compared to Fractal's
WARNING, HUGE IMAGES
Computer Outline
Hand-drawn
[edit]I forgot to stick a warning for the size.

Nice ship, BBS, but I think the indented hull doesn't give enough space for the lower thruster arrays. I also recommend sloping the turrets' glacis plates further and greatly enlarging the reactor, perhaps even installing another one.
Otherwise, I approve!

Thanks! I'll keep the criticism about the turrets and reactor in mind!
This ship class has not yet been named, so I'm open for suggestions.
Anyway, it's designed as a heavy-hitting anti-capital ship cruiser. It's some 3850 m long, and it is armed with:
45 Anti-Ship Turbolasers
105 Heavy Turbolasers
84 Medium Turbolasers
138 Light Turbolasers
Numerous point-defense guns
It carries a small complement of 144 TIE fighters for screening and short patrols around the ship, as well as two AT-AT walkers, 10 AT-ST walkers, one legion of dedicated ground assault troops, and the requisite transports, for pacifying and occyping valuable tracts of land. Thus, the ship is capable of small independent operations; however, the docking bays are relatively small because the designers were unwilling to concede anything more than token bays to the integrity of the central power trunk.
The ship possesses a main reactor, a dedicated propulsion reactor, and several auxiliary reactors strung out along the power core. In fact, most of its volume is dedicated to power generation; consequently, it can increase its firepower by nearly an order of magnitude at peak output, and can sustain this firepower for over three hours.
Its relative small size, high maneuverability (it can shunt power to its propulsion systems from the other reactors when necessary), and surprising peak firepower make this ship a formidable foe in any capital ship battle, though it is very vulnerable to fighter attacks once its shields are down, and its anti-ship and heavy guns tend to have trouble locking on to small, fast ships, such as frigates or corvettes.
The ship is often tasked into squads of three or four to seek out and destroy enemy command ships in the heat of battle. Utilizing tactics pioneered at the Battle of Endor, the ships close to point-blank range, duck beneath the command ship's firing arc, and begin a concentrated assault on poorly-gunned areas of the enemy command ship's ventral arc, such as the hangar of an Executor-class, or its propulsion systems. Once the shields have been breached, it is simply a matter of firepower to begin eating away at the exposed, armored hull. Generally, three ships bombard, while a fourth flies a screen to keep passing destroyer escorts from interfering with the process.
Whew ... man, I need to go wank.

Mwu ha ha ha ha ha.
I was just playing around with designs I was looking for something to contrast the previous one. I also sort of designed it as a sort of planetary assault ship (I sort of designed it on the Space Marine battle barge concept) Its weapons are designed for planetary bombardment and ground attack.

Hmmm; figured I'd throw in a slightly better (imo) redesign of a Kuati cruiser from Jedi Prophecy. Gentle sirs, I give you the Triarii Class Cruiser, straight fromthe Kuati Drive Yards, circa 4000 years after the Galactic Civil War.

Fractal...?
Hey... what are you doing here ?!?
Nice frigate concept.
Do you plan to make it detailed like the ISD ?

Fractal! Niiice. I remember watching just the tower being modelled quite some time ago. Thanks for giving us a good orthographic view to replace the absolutely awful, inaccurate drawings you get from official sources. I like to compare this to the images at merzo.net: 2 meters per pixel, and 10.

Dunno how that line got there, must be a compression artifact or something.

the thing with mon cals, their all personalized works of art. you can't hardly even design shell basises for them, because realisticly, only one mon cal will ever use it.

I have always hated that notion, mainly because it is THE most wildly
impracticle and uneconomical practice imaginable. The very idea that you
would build a massive 1 to 2km long Starship and make each completly
different boggles my mind. The amount of industrial re-tooling and refitting
of a shipyward must be astronomical!
...
Back ON topic, I do like the look of Mon cals, and it's easy to design fan
made ships with them being so different. That one actually reminds me of
the Mon-Remonda, which was really nice.

There were tens of MC cruisers at Endor and only 3 designs. I think that should make it fairly clear that any differences between two ships of the same class are minor enough that wouldn't be able to tell in a drawing.

also I think that later mon cals were more designed for war so im sure they would have a more standard design. Most early mon cals were luxury ships and maybe they wanted to be able to customise designs for the customer.

i think what they mean when they say non standard is that all those blister type things are not all in the same place as the ones on other ships of the same type you know that sort of difference
