True, some species, like humans and Duros, may have had space flight for a few thousand years before that, but I doubt it was that long.
The Devaronians are cited with developing interstellar space travel 500,000 years ago. That would serve as a general benchmark for the rest of the Galaxy as a whole.

A million cubic feet is a cube 100 feet to a side, or a rectangular prisim 200 feet wide by 500 feet long by 10 feet high. That's 100,000 square feet or all of 2.3 acres. That's enough, at present day farming efficencies, to feed two people.
Not defending the million cubic feet figure, but the efficency of Hydroponic farming compared to the farming standards of America is absurd. To quote "The Ultimate Resource 2" (which came out ten years ago)
On a space of prehaps 36 square meters- that is a "plot" six meters or 18 feet on each side- with use of artificial light, enough food can be raised to supply the calories for a single person, day in and day out. (A less conservative estimate is that a plot 10 feet square will suffice...)
Assuming a couple thousand years of developing technology in hydroponics and genetic engineering, and with ample space in the multi-level city of Coruscant I think they could pull it off. (Livestock might be a tad more problematic though.) I'm more perplexed by the efficency of the water-purification systems. If Corsuscant really is completley covered by a densly populated city the water needed to sustain, bathe, wash food, wash stores, for food production, for factory needs, and everything else you can imagine each day would be astronomical. To be able to pipe that water everywhere in the city, and purify it quickly enough to have it back in the system and not suffer from shortages is mind-boggling at the least.

My apologies about the inadvertant necro here. SW Vs ST is so quiet I hadn't realized the topic had died almost two weeks ago.

I was going to add in a ghetto edit, though, that you could read the entirety of the book from which my quote was taken here in chapter six. Though I used my actual hard-cover copy for the quote.

It goes against, what, two or three old sources in regards to chronology? That's a price I'm glad to pay, taking into consideration the quality of the series. Besides, it's not like the situation is that hard to reconcile (and it makes explaining the existance of distinctive human sub-species far easier, if indirectly).
It doesn't eliminate the fact that humans with sleeper ships alone could've colonized much of the galaxy before FTL and had to be the preeminent galactic species long enough to differentiate into subspecies and to trigger pseudohuman mimickry from other sentient species (Falleen).

I never disputed that fact; indeed, I think that makes perfect sense. KOTOR in no way precludes the dissemination of the human species throughout the galaxy by way of generation or cryo ships, it simply indicates that humanity had more than one method of expansion (i.e. the mechanations of ancient civilizations like the Rakatan Empire).

If you wanted to dispute the whole "How did they all get here?", create another topic, include what you were disputing...not ressruecting a dead one with a tangent.
