Awww, poor little Shader! Being judged so harshly before he gets his character development arcFord Prefect wrote:Ah, Shader, you have appear to have shit all over your face. And rabbit ears. And some really funky lookin' scars/tatoos on your left shoulder.
Kesyl's the steriotypical hottie! It's always good to hear she's living up to her jobChibi Umber is a badass. And that picture of Kesyl is hawt.
The way you draw her helps. Her eyes are a little crazed, but they're hidden behind a lock of hair and the bridge of her nose, so the most unsettling part of her face if effectively concealed. Her canines are somewhate threatening since they're drawn so sharp, but since her mouth is drawn in a smile (as opposed to have her jaws separated like the prelude to a nasty bite) the focus drawn off of them. Really, the biggest draw of the picture is her hair (her HAIR, not her spikes) which always appears very lush and wild, always an appealing sight be it male or female. The rest of her features - clear skin, pouty lips, strong facial features - make Kesyl a tremendously attractive young woman. She has the sort of face that can go from attractive to deadly serious (she reminds me of Kate Beckinsale) and still look unarguably gorgeous.Pick wrote:Kesyl's the steriotypical hottie! I just don't find clothes that important for a portrait, plus I haven't even.. uhm... officially defined Ryvara's wardrobe, one main reason I don't draw her ...Kuja wrote:Enticing.Pick wrote:(yeah, for some reason he and Ryvara don't have clothes on in their portraits! SUSPICIOUS!
Hmmm...I keep trying to think of what colors would mesh well with her skin tone (not to mention her hair) and I keep coming up with black, red, the middling ranges of blue and violet, and emerald or jade. As far as jewlery, citrine or opal, the aformentioned jade, gold if she wants to flaunt (Kesyl? Flaunt? NO!) or a touch of sapphire to create contrast. *shrugs* My two cents, anyway.Pick wrote:I just don't find clothes that important for a portrait, plus I haven't even.. uhm... officially defined Ryvara's wardrobe, one main reason I don't draw her ...Kuja wrote:Enticing.Pick wrote:(yeah, for some reason he and Ryvara don't have clothes on in their portraits! Alan Lee or John Howe?Noble Ire wrote:The first reminds me of some artwork I've seen done for Tolkien's literature; I can't remember the name of the artist, though. Considering the setting, if perhaps not the style, of DC, it's rather fitting.
It might have been one of Howe's sketches. I'm really not sure, though.Elheru Aran wrote:Alan Lee or John Howe?
Most assuredly. And from what I've seen, I'd better start reading DC soon...
Yes. You do. Put quite simply it is one of the finest pieces of fiction I have ever read in my entire life. And I do a lot of reading. And from what I've seen, I'd better start reading DC soon...
