I didn't even get notification of that turn.
Is your empire in shambles? I don't think we should rollback, I missed my last for example and all that happened is I needed to un-obsolete some of my shipclasses and adjust a few planets. I think we'll be fine with things to continue.

Okay, fine.
Can you change the "you haven't uploaded your turn" notification to longer than five hours? Getting told that I haven't done my turn when I get into the office doesn't help if the turn rolls over while I'm still here.

6 hours it is.

I'd prefer something like 18-24 hours warning. Between say, midnight and six pm it's not possible for me to get to my PC and do my turn.

It has to be at least 24 hours, preferably 36, because the game doesn't even tell you that a new turn has been hosted, and because a six hour warning is only useful if you receive it in the evening. Any other time, and I'm not going to be at my computer for more than six hours.

Well, I still want the turn timer warning extended, but the rollback was just me having a winge. As much as it's going to suck to clean out the AI's BS from my Empire, asking everyone do their turns again is just inconsiderate and inefficient.

I guess that's a lesson for us: uncheck the option where AI can make changes to your Empire

Brian wrote:Hi Brian here. The last turn I did was entirely skipped. I did submit, but it
looks like the turn executed without processing any of my orders at all. It's
happened two turns ago too. No need for rollback nothing happened since I set
my empire not to miss orders, but it's annoying to play for 30 minutes for
nothing. When I submitted it must've submitted an old version of the .plr file.
I don't really know what to do if it happens again. There might be something
wrong with my USB pen... it's cheap and I've been shuttling around files like
mad and it's been in my jeans through a heat wave hot enough to cook eggs on the
sidewalk and I've been outdoor a lot.
Also Nephtys check your gmail there is an olive branch there.

That's it.
Nothing I did in my last turn stuck. Final straw.

Weird. Looks like the game file's fucked somehow. Oh well, we were talking about starting a new one anyway, and we're down to half the original number of players. Shame, it was just starting to get interesting, too.

Bleh. Hrm, maybe we should close it down along with the ST game, given how so many dropped out.
I sense B5 is going to approach a time of great decisiveness soon however.
Shall we start a new game then? Using a custom mod, or one we've never tried before such as carrier battles perhaps?
I don't think Covenant's wonderful idealist mod is finished yet. What about my custom arcadey quickie mod?

-I actually like the Adamant mod, but the current game is probably all but decided. The major reasons to keep playing would be to test out weapons, tactics, and strategies as well as enjoying the conflict. I'm not too sure we have enough players that like the Adamant mod for a new game, but maybe people didn't like the current game because they were losing badly?

The problem with the current game, as I understand it, is that the file has become corrupted somehow, and causing people's actions in the turns they submit not to "take", as well as strange glitches, such as Brian having his build queues cleared and his shipyards building one of my ship designs.

--Well the game was rolled back at my request (the site was down when I tried to upload my turn and the AI totally screwed me; I've found the anti-AI button now, wasn't where I thought it was). Would the roll back fix the problem?

From Brian's email it looks like it's been happening for a while.

I'm not working on it anymore. Nobody was really interested and plus SE:V is coming out soon... so why bother? I'd rather mod games I can expect people to play. ;p

Wait, so are we still doing this, then? I thought we had dropped it. I didn't submit a turn. Not asking for a rollback or anything, just clarification.

I think we're done, given the confusion and file corruption.
