Sure sounds like the one she sent me. And I bet I know who her friend is.
Good deductions, guys, since I said I have only the one on my computer.

And it's not one I'm particularly fond of (in regards to how I look; I love it for the person who's in it with me), so y'all will just have to wait for another one. Capiche?

I'm sure the new Information Awareness Office has many clear high-resolution photographs on file.

Most people think I was an office worker all the time - I blame rambo for making people think soldiers are these overmuscled morons, with necks thicker than their heads. DG_Cal_Wright wrote: btw, your avatar looks like a Thrawn in the trenches. where'd you get it from?
It's Rogue Trooper, the Genetic Infantryman, last survivor of the Quartz Zone massacre. A clone with a sense of individuality and a burning desire to avenge the betrayal that lead to the deaths of all his Clone Brothers, a desire that leads him to desert so that he can hunt down and kill the traitor and also destroy the Kazan Legion that sprung the trap. He and the other G.I.'s were genetically engineered to withstand the warfare ravaged surface of Nu Earth, where centuries of Biological and chemical warfare had rendered the atmosphere a plague pit of tailored and mutated viruses and chemical fogs, raised from birth to be a soldier. All G.I.s have a bio-chip implanted in thir brains at the base of the skull and at the moment of Death their personalities and strongest memories are recorded to them, these chips can be stored in containers or special slots in the G.I. Equipment allowing them to remote operate the sensors and systems within them, until they can be implanted into fresh clone bodies. However if the chip is not placed in a container or slot within 3 minutes of death then the chip loses power and the data is lost forever. Rogue has a Chip in his Helmet (containing Sensors and comms), His backpack (long-range sensors, micro-mine dispenser and equipment dispenser) and Rifle (scope, barrel adjustment and ammo selection), that he withdrew from hi three squadmates and he hopes that when his mission is completed they will be given new bodies. His skin is blue, and his eyes are red (with multiple protective and filtering membranes).
Not bad for a comic character that was created in 1978 is it?

He's been a staple of the British comic 2000AD since that time, and I grew up reading him.
Look at all those concepts above and think about how many times you've seen pale imitations of them in recent years, now you know where the influence came from.
He looks like Thrawn? You have it the wrong way round

That said, who is she?
I wouldn't have any way to do that other than putting it in a paint program and airbrushing her out. Which isn't a very nice thing to do to one of my best friends in all the world.

Besides, the picture really isn't all that great. I'm going to have some much better ones very soon, I promise.
You don't have to do that, open the picture in Paint(or equivalent), use the Select tool (looks like a dotted Rectangle) and simply drag a box around yourself in the picture,
Edit/copy, then
File/New and
Edit/paste into the blank new sheet.
File/Save As and then give it a relevant name. Post to your webspace - or e-mail it to someone here with a webpage so they can put it up for you.
In the Above the bold words denote the Menu button and the word after the / denotes the choice inside that menu (don't want to be patronising but why not be thorough). Hope that helps if you want to do a quick pic post before you get the Digital camera.

Rob Wilson, not jealous at all, no really, not a bit, honest, so not jealous that under Jealous it has a picture of him and a caption "The complete opposite of jealous"; "We asked 100 people to name someone not jealous of Aerius and you answered 'Rob Wilson', our survey says *bing* the top answer!"...
"Mutter, Lucky bugger, mumble, Gf's are overrated, Whine, who needs women, whimper"

Ummmm.....aaaahhhh......let met think....errrrrrr.....hmmmm......welll...you know, now that I think of it, I can't think of one. It's kinda strange how she can look like so many people just by changing her expression or pose. I'm still working on the Elf ears so she can look more like Arwen, but she said she'd kill me if I put elf ears on her though.

And people think I'm paranoid for walking around with an umbrella over my head all the time and lining my hat with tin & lead foil.

We can't wait much longer Zaia.
Rob, that's bad ass. It's making me very interested in the comic now. It makes me wonder if they did use that design for Thrawn. especially since he was cloning himself, plus using clone troopers.

Though I have more pics on page 1, here's one more...
This is a comparison pic. The top is what I normally looked like in school. The top is me, heavy beard, cap and sunglasses, with one of my TV cohorts, aka "normal". The second is how different I look cleaned up. That was the Senior Prom, shortly after the photo shown on top, and yes, that hottie was my date
Almost everyone did a double take, and at least three people failed to recognize me

Might I add that I love that tie?

I got th atart year Wrong for his intro, it was prog288 in 1981 (the comic started in 1978).
Well I'm not sure if they do reprints in the states for Rogue Trooper (Colin the Yosemite Bear would know if they do), don't forget you looking at 24 years worth of weekly back issues (though it is worth it).
I doubt they stole th look of Thrawn from Rogue Trooper, though the LAAT/I's are dead wringers for some of the smaller fighter craft from the early years.
The modern take on Rogue trooper is Friday, the story is sort of the same but not as well written (the original was Gerry Findlay-Day, Pat Wells and Alan Moore... what ever happened to that Moore chap?

). The new one was written by a guy who read too much stuff by GI joe writers and had stupid catchphrases.
To learn more about him, go here
http://www.2000adonline.com/index.php3? ... oice=rogue
The official 2000ad homepage profile for the character (where you will instantly recognise my avatar), ignore the catchphrase as that's for the new version.
And there are is a comprehensive dictionary of Rogue Trooper here
http://www.lancer.dial.pipex.com/rogues ... onary.html
You;ll find a potted history of GI's on Page 4.
Enjoy
