He nods again. Now is not the time to bring up the matter of consorting with xenos and like departures from orthodoxy. One matter that the Officio Commissarate grinds into its members is unity of command, and now... now the Inquisition itself is his commander.
The day has been a whirlwind, both without and within. He closes his eyes, taking a breath and composing himself, seeking his solace within prayer.
I know this is a test, my Emperor, and in all things I will always strive to be worthy of your blessing...

Xerxes ran a hand through his graying hair. "Whats the situation, Sergeant?" he asked. He had to shout over the incessant whine of the transport's engine.

'They called a Cease fire. No clue if its a temporary thing or not. Supposedly the Inquisitors made it into the temple. I pray the Emperor sees them return.'

Xerxes chuckled darkly at that. "Indeed, but sometimes not having those fanatics around makes things much easier."

"Though there is need for great caution in this endeavour, as we are all aware, I think it should be noted that we cannot afford to move too slowly, either. The Imperium is best on every side, such as it has not been since the Horus Heresy. On Armageddon, war against the Orkish hordes still rages. The Tyranids continue to devour more and more worlds. Worst of all, the Cadian Gate itself is filled with the armies of Chaos, and requires swift relief lest it fall completely, loosing the hordes of Chaos on the galay once again. We cannot change the entire Imperium overnight, but we cannot afford to delay too long."

Hethor strode out towards the Chimera where the Imperial Guard and Adeptus Arbites were talking. The huge soldier's hand remained on the firing controls of the autocannon attacked to his weapon harness. "You there!" he bellowed. "Where in the Emperor's name is the anti-tank? If you aren't ready to drop the hammer on the traitors when the Inquisition gives the word, I'll send you make your apologies to the Emperor personally!"

Stands and snaps to attention if its necessary.
'Cavalry sir, we only pop tanks from the Air. Talk to the Senior Judge here, he might have something.'

Pater finished inspecting the Lasgun and slid it across the table towards Prius with a nod. All the talking, both physical and mental, had exhausted him. He sat back in his chair and closed his normal eye, letting his tireless Augmetic one do the work.

Prius accepts the return of the laspistol, also inspecting it carefully. It's... new, and shiny. He's not used to new things, new weapons fresh from manufacturing. The chainsword he carried into battle was centuries old, collected most often from the dead cold hands of the previous wielder, though some more fortunate commissars actually retired from the field while bearing it.
It's almost uncomfortable for him to hold such a pristine weapon.

Hethor snaps at the cavalryman. "You have a vox. Use it."

The Boreans in the vicinity try to subtly make their way out of sight of the maniacal sergeant. Life is good for the moment... nobody's shooting at them, and the commissar is inside, so nobody is shouting at them either.

'Yessir!' snaps a smart salute and has his comms men get on that request.

The Inquisitor Lord at last put in another appearance, having left the room on some urgent errand, and being far too unapologetic about it for most people’s taste. “Well,” he said, “it appears our cultist friends have been busy. I have just received word that they have, rather too conveniently in my opinion, put in an appearance in this hive, on the other side of the hive to be precise, it’s not entirely certain what they’re up to, but whatever it is has resulted in the local law enforcement coming down with maximum force on them.
I suggest you move quickly if you want any evidence preserved…”
It seemed that Vonrilyental was holding something back. Quite what it was though…

Kruger was all business at once. "How many? What's the composition of their forces?"

"A few hundred at least. Possibly gathered for some ritual event. There have been reports of demons, but they may or may not be reliable..."

Kruger laughed. "That would actually be a relief, in a way. Most of us here are Ordo Malleus and more suited to fighting Daemons than masses of Heretics. Will we be able to use this as an opportunity to test out your new -or should I say old- weapons?"

Xerxes stepped before Hethor, a hololabe in his hand. "I filed a brief tactical report of my encounter while on my way here; I believe you know what to do with it?"

Vonrilyental nodded, "There is an armoury on the floor below this one... Enjoy..."

"I will." He voxed Sgt. Slate and his men to meet him at the Armoury. When he got there they were already inspecting some weapons while being literally hovered over by a gaggle of Servo-skulls. "I'm still not sure that we can trust them, Sergent. Keep half of your regular weapons loadout in case these ones turn out to be unreliable."
Everyone took superior armour, an upgraded lasgun and a few assorted grenades. One of the heavy weapons troopers took an upgraded Melta. Kruger took one of the energy-based swords and a Plasma Pistol. He tsked when he realised that there were no Psycannon rounds; Of course, they didn't exist before the creation of the Golden Throne. He heard a sound next to him; Pater had somehow come in silently, despite his injuries. "You should take this." He gave Kruger his Force Staff. "I can't fight, but I'll help coordinate things from here." It was a big thing for Pater to give up his centuries-old staff, and was an indicator of how much he trusted Kruger.

Adivan smiled uncharacteristically as he scanned the armoury. After some consideration, he selected a pair of plasma pistols, an upgraded meltagun, a wide selection of grenades to replace those he had expended earlier, and one of the energy blades demosntrated earlier by Vonrilyenta. He thumbed the activation rune, as a test, and a glowing bar of energy extended from the hilt. Unlike that held by the Lord Inquisitor, this one was a pale yellow. The Inquisitor pondered it briefly, before walking to one of the armoury walls and plunging the blade through up to the hilt. It went with little resistance. Satisfied, he switched it off, and clipped it to his with the rest of his weaponry.

Of course, the captain had been one of the first to raid the armoury, and, stripped of the dress uniform's overcoat, though not the carapace armour underneath, she now toted a plasma gun, hanging from her shoulder on a long strap, gripped firmly with one hand, another of the 'new' power swords hanging from her belt with the old one, and, added to that, a bolt pistol that managed to have no kick and fired something that seemed similar to standard hellfire bolter rounds, if smaller in effects.

Pater walked into the conference room, which was being used as a control room for the assault. "May I?" He took a seat and adjustec the vox unit in his new faceplate to Kruger's frequency.

Prius had discarded the cane somewhere along the way, and seemed to be moving with little ill effect from his previous injuries. He studied the weapons available with a cold eye, selecting for himself a plasma pistol, an improved lasrifle, one of the energy blades, and a bandolier of grenades. He also selected a light weave armor that seemed to be incredibly durable, laying aside his weapons to don it. Bearing in mind Kruger's admonition, he strapped his old laspistol into his boot as well.
As a final touch he selected a helmet with built-in vox, switching the presets over to the proper frequencies, before looking at Gix. Gix had taken him from the Officio Commissariat by inquisitorial fiat, and it was up to Gix as to what his place in this coming battle would be.

Nathan equiped himself with armor and a helment from the stores. He chose two new laser pistols and a powersword. He checked the gear and nodded.
"Reminds me of when I first kitted out when I was declared an Inquisitor. ep nice new gear...the Imperium expanding outwards at an accelerated pace.."
He looks at Prius and grins" No Traitor Legions and Hourus was Loyal....THOSE were the days."
"Prius ,Novadlorian . I wonder if you would both honor me by joining my retinue?"

A melodic voice of thunder spoke from above.
"So no demons in the tech temple?"
"are we getting back to fighting again?"
"actually this is quite comfortable, even if it does drain my flip belt somewhat....."
Really, you should learn basic security, your duct sensors are pathetic, and the pressure sensors only scanned the floors, not walls, or ciellings...
