How the heck did you lose that? Who're you invading? The Army of Jesus?

30 fighters should NOT kill 800kt battleships. Even heavy fighters... you still out-mass them.

Maybe they were suicide fighters crammed full of warheads, though I've never seen the AI try that before.

Seems like everyone's getting cocky with neutrals. I just lost two carriers full of fighters (obsolete fighters on board obsolete carriers, thankfully) to a minefield.

They do when the mauraders don't have any anti-fighter weapons and you idiocially diverted your point-defense ship away from the blockaded planet thinking that you killed the planet last turn only to have the AI build 30 more fighters next turn and immediately launch them .

And this is why you don't rely on point defense ships. :P

I'm building a healthy amount of point defense into my attack ships in lieu of having dedicated point defense ships. Should solve both that problem and the potential problem of what happens if your PD ships get destroyed.

I wouldn't trust the AI to wisely position your PD ships in combat. Although efficiency suffers, some PD distributed on all ships sounds wiser to me, honestly. It just takes one turn of an enemy fighter stack's lucky fire to take out a PD ship as well, given the power of small Photorps.

Ferengi trading partner: what trade are you offering me exactly? You've told me what you want to trade but not how much.

You can go to "view trade" when you click on my name to see it.

I think it was 30k rads for 30k mins or something like that.

<edit>wow Dominion 30 bases way to turtle lol, are the bases on a warp point or over your planets? I wonder if the cubes can punch through it.</edit>

And you're going to come up with the resources to utilize all these shipyards how exactly?

All you guys, play faster. I'm quite enjoying the RP thread. :P

We're trying, but we're in different time zones. It kind of slows us down when some of us are four hours behind the others. Also, I suspect that some of us may even have lives to interfere with the game.

At the moment, we actually are playing really fast. Heck, I had this one entry in the RP thread all typed up and I had to delete it and start a new one because of an addition Tux made.

Resources aren't that big of a deal. The crunch production ability of a LOT of level 1 and 2 shipyards does help.

Stupid thing keeps closing itself. I think I'm gonna have to stop using the real-time client, it doesn't like an unstable internet conn. Not so very much better than d/ling from the site anyway.

There's a real-time client?

Ah. So when can we expect your turn then, Alan? Not trying to be pushy, just want a status update.

It's a java thing that's available on the PBW site. Sorry about the no turn thing, but I've done most of a turn and lost it twice now, and I brought my GF home for break last Saturday, so I've either not had the time or the will since my last attempt. I gtg, but I'll try to take care of it later tonight when I get back. Don't worry, it'll be in before it's due, at least. Woulda done it this morning if I hadn't unintentionally slept in.

Bolte you can save in between turns. I always do it so there's no reason to do most of a turn then lose it. Oh and don't use the real-time client, that's only for pickup games like if you or I wanted to play a 1 hour 30 turns this weekend or something, it's not supposed to be there open all the time I'm not surprised it crashed. Either that or only open the real-time client for 5 min then close it afterward. I have it notify me by e-mail when the turn is executed then just download it (site doesn't like my firefox though).

No reason to apologize, that's the reason why the timer's there hehe. Sex > SE:IV :D.

To quote your own sig, Alan:
