Turn 40 map update

No real change from before.

The map is almost done. Don't forget, guys, to tell me exactly which systems you claim so I know where to do the territory shade.

The system in the top right corner of the square that you've put my empire's symbol in is still contested, otherwise the map I sent you before is correct.

Is it now? Okay. Who's there? Neutrals, or Kirk?

Neutrals.

That's those Bynar guys, right? Those guys are a bunch of assholes. First they blew up my first Defiant with mines, now they're launching intel attacks on me.

Okay, the map update is just about done. I'm waiting on Alan for his map though. Guppy, I guess you haven't changed either, yes?

Hahaha *snicker* can't believe that's working.

I'm on military alliance with them but I can't seem to get them to partnership. Oh, does everybody have the AI's attitudes at "murderous"? Kind of strange, I have trade and research alliances with people who want to eat my brains but ah well that's interstellar diplomacy for you.

You're the Ferengi. You're like Galactic Wal-Mart. People need to eat your soul, ONLY AFTER they buy that 2.99 thirty-pack of socks.

The map is updated.

Yep, the 20% bonus profit margin when trading doesn't hurt either.

Looks like the Klingon-Romulan war is going to begin soon. Remember, Ferengi Merchants are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to take your orders for weapons of mass destruction, ships, troops, slaves, etc.

Some assembly required.

Not the Bynars. The little number crunchers are in the sector between my territory and Brian's. The group in the contested sector between me and you is the Talosians. I would've had them conquered a long time ago, but I'm not used to playing in games with the surrender option unavailable. I'm used to snatching the neutral's homeworld, demanding their surrender, and that being the end of it.

I'm surprised that you've even made contact with the Bynars, to tell the truth.

Brian
Every neutral I know has their attitude at "murderous" right now, except for the Talosians, ironically.

It's not working, it's just annoying. I want to build up my counter-intelligence to impossible-to-breach heights, not have it whittled down by neutrals who aren't even located close to me.

Anyway, as soon as I can turn my attention to them, they'll find out that an "alliance" (read: collection of empty promises) with Ferengi is worth less than a roll of used toilet paper. :)

It was quite by accident. My explorer ship was between Dominion and Ferengi space when I re-routed it to make contact with the other Federation. It passed through the warp point into the Bynar system and got mine-fragged.

Damn, I guess I got it wrong in the RP thread when I told you the Talosians blew that ship up. I thought that you were going to go for a direct route from your space, through mine, and to U235's since you'd have to go through my space either way.

I think it's safe to say that the Bynars are fucked. You want a piece of them, Brian's been RPing about how he's planning on backstabbing them, I've been considering attacking them...one way or another, those guys are screwed.

A funny thought occured to me as I read the RP thread, what happens if an alternate Ferengi ALSO builds the temporal shipyards and begins stealing from brianeyci's Ferengi? Or can this not happen? Are the temporal shipyards real or just RP? [/random ignorant SE4 deprived questions]

That's right, my map hasn't changed.

On Neutrals: I think the AI claims all territory one jump from their systems even if they can't reach them, so the Neutrals all think we're trespassing on their turf and thus get really pissy at us.

There are no alternate Ferengi. There's Feds of various points in the ST timeline available as different players, but the Ferengi haven't been around in trek for that long. One of Brian's planets could rebel, it happens sometimes, but odds are if such a faction did come into existance, Brian would crush it before it could do shit.

And temporal shipyards are really just race-specific tech of the Ferengi that builds ships faster than the standard space yards. Brian's just decided to use them as something of a plot device in the RP thread. Other than that, they're not particularly special.

What's the construct rate on the temporal shipyards, anyway? My Utopia Planetia SY's can build at 3500 per turn.

The third version of the Ferengi temporal shipyards, or spaceport depots (as the game actually calls them) also constructs at 3500 per turn.

That's just weird. Shouldn't the Trill be friendly and relatively docile?

Sounds like the AIs are getting restless.
