~Oh where oh where could they be?~

Bonus points to whoever can do the next line with Tholian characteristics. :P

Tholians are preparing with their 44 ship fleet to overrun Ferenginar, don't rush them.

Looking at the score is kinda cheese but hey, it started so much other fun stuff and I don't mind, although if I didn't see his ship count shoot up so fast I wouldn't have prepared some defenses so I'm kind of being cheap lol :D. Meta-game thinking. But I don't feel bad for doing it now that he's taking so long lol (j/k take your time the vultures are circling RL is more important... most of the time).

Actually, only about thirty are warships, and those are just LCs. So far, anyway.

Tis your turn, just to say. But whee, Meta-Game paranoai is FUN. I mean, who of you are distrustful of your 'allies' or plotting a NEFARIOUS scheme to the downfall of your enemy? I for one, had many that never quite panned out. Like my slow amassing of cubes inside Dominion space with a nebula...

Aieee. Now best friend AND girlfriend are home. Can't...take...fun overload!
Gonna make a try on the turn now, might not be for up to 24 hours though.

Guess I won't be getting my Genesis Weapons any time soon...

Yeah, WMDs are expensive as hell in the ST mod to research. It's the reason I didn't flip out when I saw you talking about them in the RP thread.

The level one genesis weapon can only destroy medium planets and smaller. I can't remember whether you get something to pop a star for level one WMD research, but if you do it's the one that turns the system into a nebula, not a black hole.

BTW, do you guys have more research points than the score chart says?

Well, sphereworlds and ringworlds are very real. So are Genesis Torpedoes (not the weapons, the ones that turns asteroids into planets).

I guess I'm going to have to destroy planets the old fashioned way, by launching five hundred bombers to annihilate the planet .

Yes, I have more than what the chart says from trade.

WMDs should be expensive, but that's ridiculous. They should have knocked a zero off that figure.

I wonder whether the endgame of Star Trek mod turns out to be sphereworlds filled with Cargo Facility III and large weapons platforms . Just add in massive mount and a long-ranged weapon that can target fighters and fighters don't stand a chance... or even point-defense weapons, even better.

Then and only then do I see 50000000 (fifty million) research points being a reasonable cost, large galaxy one way into the enemy empire and the wormhole is guarded by five sphereworlds. Lol.

<edit>actually 1, just 1, you could theoretically create it like that system gravitational shield facilities all over and the warp point shares the same sector as a star because you made it that way...</edit>

You can't have five sphereworlds in one system. You need to build the things on stars, and you can't just create as many stars as you feel like in the ST mod.

That would be the ultimate warp point defense. No fleet could ever get past a fully stocked Sphereworld. That's just insane to think about. Still, I doubt the game will go long enough for us to see anything remotely like that.

If you can afford to build a Sphereworld as a defense base, there must be some serious fucking shit behind it.

Oh my. I just realized an impenetrable combination. Dyson Sphere, one shipyard, 200 Borg Regenerative Phased Shield facilities, and a whole load of defense guns. Built on top of a warp point, using a solar creator...

Oi, look at us. Not long ago Brian was talking about how me and Dalton wouldn't be able to max out cloaking tech. Now we're making wanktastic plans involving sphereworlds.

I dunno about any of you but if any fuckers start taking over my planets I'm using a scorched earth policy . If you put a satellite or small ship in orbit with a cargo bay you can transfer population and jettison it, then abandon the colony even when the population goes over the x millions that makes it impossible to abandon.

Bah look what you've started. I for one will not be taken by the siren's call.

Besides, last night I thought of this too although instead of one sphereworld I thought of five and instead of useless planetary shielding I thought of cargo facility for more weapons platforms. Where are my hordes of screaming men hmm?

haha j/k

I know you were joking, but the fact remains that it's impossible to have 5 spherworlds, let alone all on the same square.

Bah, you can all pour resources into these plans if you wish. I'll crush you before you're half done (except my worthy human allies, of course).
