And weren't people complaining that the new PRSF junta was "barely functional"?
I remember aboout Czech saying I'm welcome to restore order in PRSF or something. ;) He can't really say I shouldn't have sent a mech division, because really, how else would I restore order?

Note that this whole operation has already cost me 10-20 million or so due to the expense of fuel (acknowledging the lower cost of yet plentiful oil-derived fuel in this world) as well as the need to pay for supplies inside the PRSF.

I provoked a 10-times disproportionate answer

Around 1 billion will have to be spent on reconstruction in PRSF, if not more.

Who said my budgeting is really all in response to your actions? Gotta put a spin on things, man. Gotta sell it to the people. Gotta move your agenda along, however you can. ;)

A Duchy with nuclear carriers, Czechmate? Uhm? Even with substantial GDP growth a Duchy is not going to afford nuclear carriers ever, or cruisers. Nuclear research and development programmes for naval deployment just cost to much money. I'll allow the programme only if the nuclear vessels are reduced to conventional, and even then it's utterly insane, but in light of the CSR slamming through the PRSF like a couple Shock Armies hammering Georgia or something, yeah, I'll say it's not implausibly extreme.

ED: Oh wait, you're Beowulf's bitch now, so you can use his nuclear reactors. Is he paying for part of this, though? 10 billion a year is 2.9% of the GDP, which is probably already what you spend on the military or more.

He can circumvent that by simply buying those ships from Tian Xia, and paying them to service the boats.

This way he doesn't have to maintian any infrastructure.

Technically, I'm up for decommissioning one JFK type CV by end to mid of next year.

Well, I haven't really decided what to do with that.

Given recent events I'm considering getting a carrier.

By the way Steve English is quite common throughout all Astarian holdings. After all Astaria has ruled South-Velaria for centuries.

Yeah, I had just remembered that after writing that.

PeZook, at the rate we are going, how long will it take FASTA to get us on the moon?

See what I said earlier about the colonial master. Nuclear infrastructure is not kiddy games.

Also, Neustrashimy-class frigate in all possible complectations:
Armory: Frigates

I've had a nuclear CG and two nuclear subs in my arsenal since the very first draft of my OOB. I admit upfront that it is fairly odd for a nation my size to have the infrastructure to produce and maintain such ships, but they're there all the same, and no-one objected before. I'd be willing to downgrade those ships to conventional if it's decided I can't have them, but since the lack of previous objection to the existence of those ships I would then like the option of re-assigning those nuke-points to something else (perhaps in the form of some new ships just rolling off the wharve.)

It is possible if someone sold you or gave you nuclear ships. Otherwise it's implausible.

Let's see...

If the take historical failure rates, we'll have at least a dozen R-7 flights before we figure out how to make heavy liquid fuelled orbital boosters which won't blow up.

At a rate of one test flight every two weeks, that's six months still. So, first manned flight in March 2009.

Proton development will start when the R-7 is proven and reliable (because we don't want to build the proton only to repeat some dumb engineering mistake which will come up one test later). Meanwhile, the R-7 will be running the Mercury and Soyuz programs.

I figure 8-10 Mercury flights, manned and unmanned: and make no mistake, that's at least a year. Soyuz will have to wait untill we close Mercury: but we'll be able to make two versions at the same time (like Gemini and Apollo). So another year or two, let's say two for safety.

So 2013 should see us on the Moon. Unless it turns out things like computer modelling and remote sensor technology (it's way easier to find flaws after a rocket explosion if you have a gazillion sensors on it during flight) cut some development time short.

2013 sounds good. I just hope there are no unexpected difficulties, such as sabotage.

Emperor Heraclius IV heads to PRSF for a holiday

I just wanted to get a breath of fresh air

Emperor Heraclius is going to PRSF for a holiday. Accompanying him will be the IBNS Justinian Battlegroup, along with a Wasp class LHD carrying 1 MEF and 2 RO/RO ships bearing equipment for Legio I, and 2 A380s bearing the men of Legio I, 2 air tankers, 4 Tu-142, and another 4 KDX-III destroyers. "You can't bring enough protection to protect the Emperor, really," said, Admiral Exasta. The Emperor plans to spend 1 mth holidaying there, and the troops will act as his personal guard there, along with a company of Varangian Guards.

So should I? :D
:Sigh: Would there be any real political reason to do this rather than to put on your top hat and monocle while twirling your mustache in an evil fashion?

Anyways, I'm pretty ambivalent about the CSR's latest move. If there is going to be one great power's puppet nation in the neighborhood, having two is actually a step up. Then they have to worry about what the other one is going to do.

You still have a long way to go before you reach Shrooms levels of wackyness. :D

I'll have Nod sit this one out. PeZook is in charge of Shroomania so it's up to him to deal with your dudes.

Probably not.

On that note, I'm going to have my four carriers sail around your continent conducting "freedom of navigation exercises" just for shits and giggles. No I won't actually do that, don't worry.

Hey, maybe you can give it to me and I can then give it to Steve, since he seems to want to upgrade his carrier force. :)

Either him or Marius as I claim "continental defense partnership FTW!"

Well, I guess I could sell or give it away....

I'm sticking with a 3 CVBG Navy at least in the long term.

So...Kulinsky's back.

And he's a Brigadier General now. Those schmucks kidnapped the wrong man's daughter :)

Also, Rogue...will ya be flying over to PeZookia soon? I'm about to wrap things up with Arik. Damn, the representative orchestra will get to perform a lot of national anthems :P

But my anthem is so much cooler :P

I figured I'd use this one, since it sounds less evil while still maintaining the spirit of the original. Though the original could be used as somebody's "interpretation" of it. :D

And no, I haven't thought of any words for it, nor am I likely to do so in the near future.

Anyway, back to the point of this post: I'll be sure to drop on by in the near future. I'm expecting Steve to make a visit soon-ish, so we'll see what's on President Garrett's schedule.

Then I'll have my people call your people.
