It isn't three factions by my count no, but it is three 'teams' outside of the Centrality. Mayabird; the Collectors and the Lost; the Bragulans and the IoM. Am I missing anyone? I forget if Maya had a partner or not.

Strictly speaking, my intention is to capture her and place her on trial.

Granted we do have the death penalty and could likely convict her of such crimes as would be needed (genocide, slavery) in fair trials, I'm certain. So it would still be the same end result, in all reality.

Assuming she doesn't put up resistance, of course. In which case, well...it's war. These things happen.

The thing is, the Lost & Collectors want to capture her, and so does the IoM, separately and whatever other groups. The Refuge just wants her dead. In fact, not just dead, but cast down, since as I've said, the trick about killing gods isn't the actual killing, because it can be done (though with great difficulty), but making sure they stay dead. Deities do have that awful habit of getting better.

So yeah, maybe the Leader is worth 100 points or whatever crap as she is, but we have not yet beheld her true form.

I've been pushing for Sasaki to be the "official" depiction of Sasha/the Leader, mainly as part of a setup for a future story line involving Haruhi and Q. You can find some other details here if you're interested, but at this point in time, it's just yet another one of my half-baked story proposals.

Yes you are, Shroomy, yes you are.

And Zor, I'm cool with the Spongedudes, but sector H2 is close to the Lost.

Fgalkin, no eating them right away, OK?

Sorchus, you might run into them, if Zor wants to play with them.

H6, huh?

I think we'll drop by and take a look.

The Spongedudes are in H2. The Lost are in H4, or centered on it. H6 has pirates which have probably been cleared from the sector by the time Q4 3400 gets well underway.

Perhaps the MEH fatties eat excessively as a method of worship of their goddess, who is not a lardfat by virtue of being an inhuman monster.

Thinness is abhorred because it betrays non-worship of the goddess, and who can possibly be happy outside of the goddess's light?

Really, I think their obesity is a symptom of the utter cultural stagnation that took place in the hundreds or thousand of years it would take to move planets into the water belt and terraform them for the fabulous 5-planet systems of the MEH. Perhaps The Leader could keep herself semi-sane that long to achieve such a long-term feat, but so many human generations, spent.... waiting? I dunno.

[Council of Technarchs]

"Also, due to inept management- it takes some real effort to keep a population from growing decadent in an environment where all their needs can be met with relative ease, and the Type Ones and Twos running the MEH don't qualify..."

Hey, at least it makes the occupation easy. How can a morbidly obese population pull off an insurgency?

Speaking of occupation, I imagine the issue of occupation zones will be a real hassle.

I believe the MEH needs a two-state solution to separate the MEH humans and the MEH AIs postwar. Else we'll have traumatized enema-bot genocide gangs running around filling their olive oil tanks with horrific chemicals instead of using machetes on their former masters...

The GEoM just wants the MEH leader for interrogation, and then her soul for chow food.

You can dispose of the body anyway you all wish.

You know, when this struggle for the Leader commences, I'd like it if everyone makes sure that the interested players get shots at her. No writing about how your forces seized her and immediately cutting to her grisly fate at your hands.

Just a FYI, Bragule doesn't give a shits about the Leader, and is just as happy smashing the shits out of the rest of the MEH.

Agreed. I'm still having some reservations about my participation in all this, I'm sorry to be a fence-sitter but I wasn't planning on contributing anything really essential to the campaign anyway; it'd be almost a token force compared to the scale of the operation. But assuming I'm in (as seems likely), the Technocracy is totally indifferent to the fate of the Leader.

Also, some of the compromises that might spring up sound hilarious: "Okay, you get to soul-suck her, but only if we get the head!"

For the sake of interesting roleplaying, the Ascendancy is willing to grant sanctuary to any person who fears they may be unfairly persecuted by other Coalition forces. As soul-sucking followed/preceded/accompanied by decapitation with extreme prejudice qualifies as unfair persecution under the Space Geneva Conventions, the entity know as 'Sasha' or 'The Leader' is hereby offered Ascendant protection. :D

We are of course assuming Baerne doesn't lapse into an ADHD state again.

And the IoM has never bothered to follow the Genevan conventions since the Imperium-Tau war.
