Alaska is very very reliant on Oil/Natural Gas Exports at the present time. There are large mineral deposits, but most of them have yet to be fully explored. As a result of this, Alaska needs stability in MessAmerica, but as you said, we are ready to play most people off each other for a bigger seat at the table (with the main exception of Cascadia (Alaska's closest friend).CmdrWilkens wrote:Alaska is...I' not sure but quite possibly ready to play everyone off one another for a bigger seat at the table.
I know this is a REALLY old quote but I wanted to go back and addrress this with a large number of the STAR Cruisers and STAR destroyers slated to come online this year and in the next few game years:Stas Bush wrote:Yeah, but large naval vessels, which one had under construction, would get stuck & delayed for several month after the Shep Astaria war most certainly.
Another order?Shinn Langley Soryu wrote:That kind of future is still a long way off for most of us. I still have to look towards my navy, and to that end I'll be laying down two new Braunschweigs and putting in an order for six more Formidables and two more Álvaro de Bazáns to fully complete it.

Yes, sir. Six Formidables modified to the same specs as before (Mk 41 VLS, two Goalkeeper CIWS, RAM launcher, and sea skimmer detection radar) and two F100s, all for the flat price of $3 billion.Fingolfin_Noldor wrote:Another order?Shinn Langley Soryu wrote:That kind of future is still a long way off for most of us. Sure. Consider it done.Shinn Langley Soryu wrote:Yes, sir. Also, Byzantine Heavy Industries makes Panzerhaubitze 2000s and Mowag Piranha derivatives, right? I'll be needing about 60 LAV-25s and 32 PzH 2000s for my Marine Corps. That'll set me back another...$230 million total, maybe?
Damnit, clearly I've stationed my supproting division in the wrong place if they don't get any "dun dun dun" action in their sector. Oh sure I'm cleaning up all sorts of Shepistani secrets but I don't get no cliffhangers.Lonestar wrote:Dun-dun-dun!

I deployed my Marines to East Shepistan but the 14th Division (Heavy) is based out of a FOB/Fort on the NW coast of Shepistan proper. That said they've mostly been confining themselves to patrolling port towns partially to make sure that there are no secret Shepistani projects lurking about the ocean. Its sad but I listed a base name in my OOB and can't recall it right now but nonetheless my 14th Div is in country, I've got a MEU mucking about in East Shepistan but I'm not really all that active in trying to restore civil authority outside of the port towns on the North coast. Anything in the interior of the country would be, at best, recon battalions doing quick runs.Lonestar wrote:CmdrWilkens wrote:

That's because you deployed stuff to support operations in East Shepistan(the Mexico/Bangladesh of Shepland), remember? I think only the OD running around in Shepistan.

Well, it did end up getting gassed...Steve wrote:What decision was made to the ultimate status of South Veleria? Is there a remnant Astarian government there? A FUN/Sirnothese protectorate?
