I hope so. That would make things interesting.

So, Ryan wants to conquer the AFSR? Well, good luck with that.

So myself Stas, and an NPC versus Ryan, that sounds like a good mstch up for me.

Frequesque is certainly approaching capacity as a storage place for player nations, but we could just add some islands. Actually, if the islands were between Frequesque and Velaria, we could have arguments about whether or not it counts as part of Frequesque. Geographical controversy! How often does that come up?
I think Zablorg should run with the 'New Zealand' mantra and make an island chain near the Goddamn Fucking Continent.

phongn wrote:Tonkin's pretty much done major investments into the three relatively stable nations to the NE of Velaria (Rangatara, Akori and New Olympia, concentrating on the first one); it was written some game-years ago but I think it would've been reasonable to consider it continuous. Various other players have taken Tonkin into account elsewhere (e.g. Wilkens and the Caymans) so I assumed people sort of took that into account.

Should the situation have changed, uh, I'll have to look into that.

As for Hadhramara, it's sort of outside my immediate sphere of influence so long as the civil war doesn't spread north or the new "central government, " for what it's worth, doesn't annoy Tonkin's interests. But I'll start staging aircraft in Rangatara just to be sure ...
Well, he was causing some problems for Rangatara, involving them because they had refugee camps and Bad Things were happening there. And he was also trying to arm them and such. Which is what got the Shinra Republic initially involved, since we didn't want another civil war after we'd intervened in the last one. Because then either we'd have to go deal with it again (after working out a deal with the IRT, of course) or just let you handle it.

We figured we'd be easier on the population than you. :P

Of course since the IRT has that rocket launching facility thingy in Rangatara, I'd think you'd take notice of instability in the area, and Zor's Port Adria would probably qualify.

EDIT: Well, me and PeZook finally finished the Kamila thing. Yes we practically have a giant "TO BE CONTINUED?" on the screen as it fades to black. I would say "so sue us" but then Karmic Knight would find a way to do just that, the bastard. :P

But at least we're moving that plotline along. :)

Rogue, PeZook, I gotta hand it to you guys: for a storyline precipitated by so outlandish a concept as "Q is screwing with people", you sure know how to write a touching bit of prose. Chapeau to you both!

As a reminder, 4-5 game years ago the IRT officially adopted a policy of massive retaliation, primarily to reduce the size of her armed forces. This has a variety of consequence for Veleria. Consider that the bar would have to be very high indeed in order for Tonkin to execute massively retaliatory strikes, which gives plenty of room for people to act. However, the IRT also does have considerable conventional forces as well, and to draw the IRT in may inevitably spark a much more dangerous conflict.

So, have fun! :D

Alternatively we could add some player space to the south of the IRT. Right now Messamerica is essentialy a huge block of L5 nations with 2 L4s hanging on so the only real flashpoint is the Caymans (which now has too much NPC backlog for anyone to take over unless they really want to) OR whatever overseas shennanigins the nations get up to. Now obviously I'd say phongn has veto over any such idea but a new NPC/player space that starts to form the rest of what we would call South America could be interesting.

That changes my defensive posture way too much if we start attaching countries to me. I can get away with (only) having one heavy corp of troops because I'm virtually an island.

Fair enough...obviously its why I am already shifting towards more overseas stationing of my troops. Since MESS or MESS-friendly navies patrol virtually every bit of water surrounding me (and I carry the world's largest Navy by a factor of 2) my defensive posture isn't that strained but my force projection is severly constrained.

We could put him in the ocean as a New Zealand island chain roughly between Frequesue and Tonkin, a bit closer to Frequesue.

Hey PeZook before you worry about me jumping forward suddenly the Ares I doesn't give me enough weight to get everything to the moon. Getting the LEM, SM and CM there means I need the durn Ares V and that isn't until later, I still have to figure out how to get 5 or 6 RS-68s to work in concert with each other...which is half the reason I am going to be playing with 5 and 7 CBC variants of the Delta IV over the next few years.

Put him in Velaria. We need one stable player country in that region, so he can manipulate things on his own backyard. It'll be better than all of us toying around with NPC factions, which can be unfair.

Besides, Mercenary Aces! The legendary Rock Ironbeef - the most electrifying man in modern warfare! If you SMELL-LA-LA-LA-LA... what the Rock... is cooking! 8)

Heh. I'm not really playing Cascadia at this point so much as I'm trying to make sure Zor gets consequences whenever he tries a new ploy to wiggle his way out of the conflict he's caused.

As it is, Cascadia's actually in negotiations with Zoria and other Pacifican nations for a Pan-Pacific agreement of some sort, though it remains to be seen on the extent of it.

They're there to make sure things don't get too out of hand. And they'll gladly work for the newly fledged Caliphate of Velaria or whatever you're going to call it.

Now, if Zor could give some of his proxies in Velaria (whoever they are) some airplanes, and it'll be perfect! ACE COMBAT!

They already allied with the wrong factions no?

There's no Caliphate of Valeria yet. Yet.

And the Jihadis are going up on the technology level soon.

Ford Prefect's Country is neither enemy nor friend, so far. I don't know about Zablorg.

For all we know they might even be on another continent entirely, since Ford Prefect's Country's location has not been decided.

Don't forget MOHAMMAD JIHAD! The Jihadists will need his awesome!

Except...you don't :D

Our Moon is so small you only need 50-60 tonnes of lift capacity to replicate Apollo, and something like 80 for Orion. Hence why the FASTA Moon rocket is a Saturn III rather than a full-blown Saturn V which is considered a "superheavy" booster (and actually not like Saturn at all, closer to Energia in looks and with provisions for strap-on boosters)

He's non-participative, but I'm not sure who was supposed to take up the reigns of the CSR for him. But I doubt they'd look happily upon an invasion of a fellow Socialist Republic.

And Fin, I'll repeat; the Caliphate of Veleria is somewhat expansive as a national name for a small portion of Veleria. It should be the Caliphate of Malipland or Malipstan, or some other term for the region aside from the Zorian-assigned "Dragonsnake River Basin".

Noted. It will be adjusted according.

Well, technically, there's no nation as of yet.
