Are we honestly going to fight over a shithole piece of jungle? Wait, this is Africa. Never mind.

Sorry I haven't posted lately but I've been ridiculously busy at work. I should definitely be able to get my points listing and a basic history up on Sunday.
A few more details will be revealed now though. I plan on playing a highly nationalistic democracy. I also plan on having a strong navy to keep Europeans and others away from South America as a default position.
I'm still thinking of having some sort of Special relationship with Rogue Ice if he's interested, but unless people want the US to have intervened when Spain's colonies were becoming independent thinking of a good historical reason could be difficult.

Bean, I laid claim on the BVI a ways back but we can work that out off thread as its not critical other than I want to have all of the Virgin Islands (British, US, and "Spanish").

I am indeed interested. Don't know about the history yet, but then my brain isn't running to capacity this evening because of the way my day went. But we'll see.

Perhaps a combined Monroe doctrine? That might be nasty for my relations with Spain as they are likely going to still have Uruguay at least on my border.....
To start I'm thinking more that are nations start liking each other and have some policy goals in common rather than a full binding alliance unless you think that's the way to go.

With the Pacific cut off by Mexico and Cascadia the US may very well have cultivated an alliance with Argentina-Chilè, securing their route for Pacific trade and bases to field US Navy ships in the Pacific.

Klavostan has disappeared as mysteriously as it arrived, leaving Indonesia/Malaysia open for colonialists.

Oh no, please God no....
Two land rushes in one day?!
Hrm.... *contemplates trading East New Guinea for Sulawesi and a bit more of Australia*
*rushes to do calculations*
And awaaaaay we go!
(Yes, I think I shall claim Sulawesi and some outlying islands, parts of New Guinea will be open for colonization shortly...)

Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. In any case, I still receive the rest of Malaysia; I'm willing to negotiate over Singapore's final status.

Sumatra is hereby claimed. The two cities claimed by Karmic are ceded to him (Banda Aceh and Bakauheni) (Details to be worked out)

Cool.
I'm ceding claim to a portion of New Guinea, the modern Western (Fly), West Sapik, and Gulf provinces, and laying claim on Sulawesi as well as a protectorate over Halmahera, Morotai, Ternate, and Tidore, the latter two being the small islands off the coast of Halmahera and Morotai being off the north. The Protectorate of North Molluca is primarily self-governed with basic Cascadian citizenry rights - including right of religion for the Christian population - recognized and a Cascadian Territorial Court for final appeals and hosts a Cascadian naval station (not a full base).

While I'm at it, I think I'll take the rest of Borneo as well.
As for the Singapore question...
I know there's a way to form a compromise based on that map, but I can't figure out the exact details, at least not yet...

I won't mind Java, if anyone objects. And maybe some corners of Australia just for the sake of mining crap.

I will be playing as the Peru-Bolivia Confederation. In this timeline, Peru-Bolivia did not dissolve, and this Confederation also contains Ecuador.
I am still working out details, but it will be a socialist country. There have been a number of rebellions and revolutions that led up to this point. The P-B Confederation developed more rapidly, but with more pronounced internal strife.
I hope to post the starting numbers shortly.

The backstory I wrote up says that the Philippines/SAU seized Hong Kong in 1839, just prior to the outbreak of the First Opium War. If you're going to press the claim further, I can just say I sold Hong Kong to you at the end of the First Opium War in 1842 and be done with the whole thing.
As compensation, I'd like to take just a tiny bit off of Guangdong province, namely
Zhuhai prefecture. If Bean wants or needs more Chinese territory, maybe he'd be interested in adding
Shenzhen sub-province to Hong Kong...
Better talk to Bluewolf and me for that, for he owns the place and I have basing rights there.

Zor, does it make sense for your Japan to attack Russia over a port leased from Beowulf? And I'd love to ask the same of the mods, because that's what Beowulf proposed instead of a Russo-Manchurian war in the early 1900s, and frankly to me it makes no sense other than just trying to avoid a pre-written conflict with Russia or something.
Is it not the prerogative of the state creator to decide with which states a nation be hostile and with which it be friendly? Especially if it has conflicting territorial claims? I want to clear this question, because I don't like pre-written treaties, port leases or such stuff either, since that makes it as if the Russian Empire politicially accepted the Manchurian claims of Beowulf.

Hrm. I've claimed the northern Moluccas, but I don't know if the southern ones have been claimed.
My claims are Morotai, Halmahera, Tidore, and Ternate. I also realize I should have Bacan, and I can fit it into my CT score (actually, I may be altering that soon and make it a moot point) as it's right off those islands. The rest, however, are open I believe.

I agree it is the perogative of the state creators.
I think the sticking point is that you, IIRC, want to establish that Kamchatka and Primorsk were Russian-claimed territory lost to Manchuria-Korea (Korchuria!) in a war. Beowulf wants to have them as always having been Manchurian territory.
You two need to settle that issue. If you can't, I'll be happy to do it for you.
