Sure it still has a fleet, but if 2 or 3 nations sent a good third of their fleets into jardinian space, they could conquer it in a couple weeks, minimal losses.

I suppose, but consider that you have an entire empire of people who have undergone basic millitary training. And a lot of them are ex-millitary, and have strong loyality.

They can wage the gurillia campagin from hell.

you'll be OK. The Arcane Empire, sur le autre main....
You realize that the Arcane Empire uses magical equipment to the exclusion of almost all else, and uses a gold standard that is very difficult to manipulate right?

Especialy because the pure gold and platinum coins are marked with spells to avoid counterfitting(sp) etc etc etc...

It will be more difficult than that to mess with our commerce or whatever else you plan on doing.

Err, I don't see how that's gonna protect you from pirates...

Their unique coin is fairly easy to track, and so they can follow the pirates with relitive ease.

Yeah. Havent you learned that pirates are only interested in galleons and gold dubloons, not Asgard pp?

And it isnt as if we cant track our magical equipment... And um... how do you plan on piloting a spelljammer ship? It requires a mage of no small skill to control...

LOL!

I cut off hte cargo bay, and am making off with yer junk. The remnants of the ship are being left behind.

I should point out, also, that your vessels tend towards small, and as such could probably be tugged by a large Pirate freighter.

You realize that our merchant marine is armed and contracts tend to be made in tavers after a line like "If you are willing to fight that hard to protect my property, I will have it in your hold by midnight"

Oh, sure... they could be tugged.. and all the while the onboard weapons are draining your shields and the mages on board are using some powerful spells to drain them as well.

Remember, our ships on the surface(and we do still have sailing galleons) are subject to pirates as well... And they are armed to the teeth.

You realise that it's being attacked by a Floater strike cruiser armed with modern weapons and shields, assisted by a swarm of escorts?

If your freighters are well equipped enough to stand against a cruiser in combat, then there is something seriously wrong.

That post was copied right from the first STGOD. It is, therefore, correct. And besides, "symbiote" is a generic term. There are many types of symbiotic relationships, like mutualism, commensalism, and PARASITISM. Yeah, thats right, I got a 5 on the bio AP. 8)

Pablo, are we going to assume that the Fenari were wiped out in the Genocide Wars?

I concur, though it realy does depend what kind of symbiotic relationship is going on...

When you said pirates I thought you meant pirates, not your military. Though if that is the case, you will quickly find an Imperial taskforce bombarding your clusters in known space

Floater, not Ouster. Two different things; she's hiring Floater brigands.

And get on AIM or MSN, will you?

If a power which was present at the time of the first STGOD has not returned, it is assumed to be destroyed.

Hold up there, Alyrium. Just reading your posting with Laz, and there is no way that your mage can do half of what he just did. First, he was knocked unconscious the second he was brought on board the ship. Did that only last half a second so that he could immediately turn and fight? Second, the parasite was already in him when he attacked it. Even assuming he was conscious, how can you use spells to turn it? Can anyone say "casting interrupted by the tearing agony of a 2-foot snake burrowing through your belly and into your spine?" Third, the whole concept is a bit off. Its like asking the alien face-hugger to not lay eggs in your lungs.

Powergaming fuck.. you thought it would be that easy...

Any thoughts from the peanut gallery here? Pablo?

Do you play D&D? Do you have any idea what the power level of a 13th level combat wizard is? 6th level spells... He could blast the inside of that ship black. And there ain't a snowball's chance in hell that he rendered him unconscious that quickly. He could toss a disintegrate on the outer hull if he chose to do so. Lazerus shouldn't have defined the power level like that.

I gotta say, I DO play DnD, and the rules would give our friend here a hugely difficult Combat Casting roll. Even at lvl 13, it would almost certainly fail. This guy's been stunned (so he's unconscience, or close,) and has a horrific little creature causing him searing pain as it works it's way into his guts.

I say that he'd almost certainly fail to control the creature.

Okay, lets try it this way. Since when did anyone come up with technological sensors that could detect magical energy?

To the accuracy of it being able to pick up a single moving individual with enough precision to transport him with only one data point coming from a piddling first level spell? And, most importantly, all this from a power that's never encountered magic before? You've got to be kidding me.
