Sure there's a danger, I measured a couple systems with a ruler and if you cut off exactly the right systems you can cut him off forever. Your Gate Crasher ship moves really fast at least 15 squares maybe around 20 or 30 right through my space.

Anyway that satisfies it with me if you don't want to cut off people. The "restriction" is an RP thing not a game rule so I wanted to bring it up OOC to clear things up. As long as you agree (and everybody else) not to isolate other players without their permission it's a non-issue. Seal yourself up all you want if it makes you feel safer. Thanks :P.

In light of this mess.. hrm. Maybe making one's own b5 mod would be easier and more fun. Just cut it down to the eight or so 'real' races, and equipment that makes sense.

Make technologically superior races genuinely superior (Vorlons, Shadows, Minbari, Vree), but make them also equally more expensive. So a Vorlon ship needs to be overwhelmed by 3 major race ships (Centauri, EA, Narn, Dilgar), or 6 minor race ships (Drazi, Pak'na'mra, Neutrals)

Anyway. Arthur, how is that ship possible? It doesn't work for me in a SP game...

Well you can't close a gate that has an enemy presence on the other side of it. Unless I go through and clear his stuff out I can't cut him off and I simply lack the ability to do that.

Are you sure about that? In Star Trek Mod I closed a gate with enemy presence all the time. Especially with enemy presence--Tuxedo would know about this.

Don't worry Kojiro it won't come to a mess or arguing since I told Tux and he's sending his 24 move point monsters to hunt down and guarding warp points on both sides and 50 move point scout ships so if game mechanics are gonna resolve this it probably won't come to Tuxedo being isolated forever :P.

Okay, who the heck deployed a minefield in Cooke?

Use movement replay! :P.

It wasn't me. I actually wanted to mine M6, but decided against it.

EA got a mysterious message saying it was the Dilgar. Image

Attempts to do so in other tests, and by Tobor have proven it.

That sector was mined long long ago. But it was by the Dilgar. :P

Quick question. I'm assuming that narn planet is attacked since that's what happens if one encounters, and are 'neutral'. And that suddenly, the population dropped 800 mil...

Em. What is going on?

Also, I see. Baseships are bugged and for some reason, take a lot less movement to move. That's really, really an exploit more than anything else. :/

My lack of ability to import readable images is annoying me. BUt i can assure you as can Dalton that there was no combat on that planet. Not to mention the stations preferentially wont even target it.

As for the population drop. That may have something to do with the player file. If for example my planets can hold more peeps than his, and he gets it back the level might go down, but i have no idea.

I assumed it would be so now. Since apparently Narn control holds more. It's very odd when a 4800 mil planet suddenly appears to hold 4018 mil after a transfer... right? No reason for the planet not to be 'full', as no transports have left. Alright.

As for the exploit... Tuxedo didn't look through data files searching for every little possible trick to use, he stumbled on it by accident and didn't even know it was an exploit until I told him "wtf mine have 14 how do you have 24." By then his ships were half built.

If Tuxedo has to retrofit the engines off and go back down to 14 or 12 without agile ship, how far does the exploit thing go. Tuxedo has more powerful weapons than the Minbari with 1 reload 600 damage weapons, maybe that's an exploit. Maybe trading with AI's for planets is an exploit :P.

Bleah. We need to set solid rules. Because well... as a little red-pajama'd person whispered in my ear, there's no reason for 800 million narns to be missing from that planet. Unless they were killed somehow, right? If one wants to play semantics?

Game mechanics cannot dictate RP and so on. This really is all giving me a headache on what should be a casual game. It's stepped over that line several times throughout the thing, starting with that first war in Centauri space, and the vorlon-brak border skirmishes. Planet trading is cheap, yeah. But so's using bugged ship hulls (all baseships are like that), or

Bleah. I'm waiting for this to end so we can get either a custom game going, or a new adamant. Quite a different situation than our old ST Game occured here. :/

On a different note...

Three of my ships in Adamant have gone crazy. Not only are they not going where I want them to, but they're going there three times faster than they should be. Has anyone else encountered this?

Screenshots and I can see. This is not good--the game file may be corrupt, we have to get to the bottom of anything wierd like that.

Tobor I know why your images are fucked. They are bmps when you upload them to photobucket. You got to save them as gifs or jpgs.

Jesus, I thought I had it bad with 3 reload 1K laser/pulse arrays against your 2 reload particle cannons.

Oh, please. Using a particular ship size is not an exploit. Taking advantage of the AI, retroseries construction, double minefields, etc., these are exploits. If I had rushed baseship research after looking through the vehicle sizes file, I would conceed the point, but it happened the other way around. I got to the new ship size, upgraded my designs, and did a double-take when I had 2.5 times the movement for the same number of engines. I wasn't about to go back to an inferior design because the modder made a mistake, especially when everyone else has the ability to research and build baseships just like me.

I was being facetious, see the post Uraniun pulled that quote out of for the context :P.

I'm using retroseries. I personally consider it fair since it costs 150% resources and takes planning to execute properly. The only thing I think is a real exploit is taking advantage of the AI because well, the AI's too stupid to refuse. And closing all warp points and building gravitational shields. Everything else I don't really care about up to and including technology trading (if you're going to go through all the effort outside of the game to technology trade, well you deserve a reward and it's socializing).

Have a screen of your ship?

Another reason to play Adamant--it looks way better :P.

This friday im going to be going away until monday evening so if you wouldnt mind can we keep it on last player upload. I know this slows the game down for four days but at least it should give the rp to catch up to the last 6 months from the last two days :)

The bug doesn't occur for Vorlons, though it does work for Minbari I'm told.
