Tsaroth gets back to the gates, throwing them open ala Aragorn and catching up to the mayor right as he was about to make his speech to the assembled townsfolk.

I aplaud your sence of drama, but the mayor isn't making his speach just yet. He's back in his office thinking. Also, might you want to contact your teammates? Last I chcecked, you wern't all telepaths.

I go to the cart, and try and make contact with the Corpulent one there

The cart is gone, but you see tracks leading to the blacksmith.

I head to the blacksmith

The cart is sitting outside the smithy, and the blacksmith is working on it.

Tsaroth walks by the blacksmith

"Do you know where the owner of ths cart is?"

"Mage lookin type? Named Robgea? He's having me do some repairs on his cart, he just left, dunno where he is now."

"Thanks... Do you know what direction he went?"

"Up main street, but half the town is in that direction."

"Well half the town is better than all of the town. Thank you my friend"

"Glad to be of help."

After taking his pony to the stables for food, Grozny starts looking for any of his comrades walking around the town.

You see Tarsoth walking up main street.

"Well... the negotiations went well... The Druids will remain neutral, while the Kobalds attempt to kill every man woman and child"

(of course, I'm still with Tsaroth )
"It would be best to start sharpening your weapons. YOu might need it... Now to find the rest... Should we go back to the Inn, and wait there? The others now about it at least. Before we walk all over the town..."

Tsaroth walks over to the town bell, and rings it. He stands on the platform and waits for the town to assemble. Once that is done, he clears his throat and begins to speak.

“Good people of the Township of Kantz. You are probably wondering who this mage is who has called you here. My name is Tsaroth Maelar. You do not know it, but I am the mage that has been negotiating with the Druids, and with the Kobalds for your safety for the last few days. The negotiations have gone reasonably well, and the mayor has reached a settlement with the druids that he will explain to you later. However, the Kobalds will not be dissuaded will be attacking you en masse the day after tomorrow. Your town is surrounded by them. They are well equipped and professional soldiers. And they are roughly equal to your number by my estimate.

You have no choice my friends. You must stand and fight to defend yourselves. However your towns walls are not yet strong enough to withstand their siege equipment. They will have to be strengthened. Your men at arms are strong, and in the town currently are at least 2, most likely 3 skilled mages who will help you. If we work together we can fight off this menace and your children will be safe to live in this wonderful wood! What say you!?”

About 1/3 of the town dosn't come when the bell rings.....

Your speach is greated with massive cheering. The crowd rushes off to reinforce the walls or otherwise help with the tows defence.

The mayor walks up.
"I'm not sure if I should thank you, or kill you."

"Well, if you dont defend yourselves, you are dead. Had I not done anything, you would have no chance... And would die. I think you should probably thank me. Though, it would be rather amusing to see you try to kill me.

Though, the earthen reinfocements to the walls are coming along well. Now lets see f we cant dig a huge trench and divert the stream to forma moat"

Tsaroth walks off to help direct the villagers

Unbenowst to our heros, a kobold scout silently moved through the fields near the town, mumbleing to himself.

"Hit and run he says, keep them in a panic he says. If I wanted to do godsdamed hit and run I would have been a raider instead of a merc!"

He stopped, at a small reagon overlooking the town and squinted into the glare.

"lets see. Wall, dosn't look too tough, their fortifiing it though, smithy, assorted homes and.......lumber mill. Plenty of sawdust there, perfect."

As your charachers do whatever they are doing, they see a brilliant red bolt fly out from a nearby field towards the lumber mill. The fireball flies into the structure, and there is a muffled *thump*.

Then the building explodes.

Keenan looks towards the explosion, and runs towards it.(Activates mage armor on the way)

Seeing the ball of flame arc over the sky, and impact into the lumber mill and burst into flames, Grozny, after muttering several profantities to himself, runs as fast as his little legs can carry him to edge of the town in which the fireball came from, and procedes to look for any sign of enemy troops in thae area.

"Ah hell... They have mages"
