What system would refuse to give you whatever you want? You probably wouldn't run out of torpedoes because you would never have to use them. Not to mention that if you picked a wealthy system to hold hostage, you could get enough money/valuables from just the one system to live out the rest of your life in happiness.

Actually you would have to use them once bare bones minimum otherwise nobody would believe you could do it in the first place. You'd probably have to use them 2 or 3 times to make sure that people believe it was YOUR doing rather than nature picking a really bad time for their sun to go nova all on its own.

Assuming nobody ever figures out who you are. Because once they DO your life expectancy is nothing to write home about.
