And who was the nutter who said 'Frak yeah, let the Cylon go' when Starbuck volunteered Athena to go? And who said they should just 'space' Starbucks Cylon ass? If she clearly hates and doesn't trust Starbuck and Athena, why DID she put her hand up to go on the mission with them? And why didn't anyone smack her down?
I think you're getting Seelix and Barolay mixed up...not that I blame you, they look and sound damn similar. Seelix was on the bridge and had those two lines, while Barolay accompanied them on the mission and was killed by Six
No no, I mean WHY did Seelix put her hand up to go on this whole damn MISSION in the first place if she clearly hates all Cylons as much as she does? Given that Athena is there and half the people probably think Starbuck is some kind of Cylon or Cylon plant?

Well, it seems obvious that for better or for worse, not everyone there really volunteered. Gaeta can't fucking stand Starbuck, and that one pilot won't stop mouthing off either.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

Strictly from a colonial perspective. I destroy the base ship on arrival and execute starbuck as a traitor. I mean from their perspective, she comes back from the dead, then goes off to find earth, and comes back with more cylons saying they need to work together. LOL if Adama accepts this, the writers jumped the shark.

BTW the centurion went bonkers because they were going to kill the hybrid.

In the first season, yes, that would be exactly Adama's reaction, but by this point he, and the other senior officers have had lots of interaction with Cylons, on friendly, and neutral terms.

Why? Anders was defending his captain from mutiny? Helo was WAY out on a limb.
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

Helo was out on a limb? What show are you watching? Let's look at things from a Colonial perspective. Starbuck was proposing to trust a Cylon (Folks who have been doing their damndest to exterminate the colonies? With maybe two exceptions) that had been trying to mentally break her for a year. Further, this trust extends to bringing a Base Star into the fleet, a fleet that the Cylons have shown nothing but hostility for. Just to top things off, she's just been resurrected the way the Cylons have been shown to do, and come back in a brand-new Viper the same goddamn minute the Cylons attacked the fleet yet again. Further, IIRC Helo was quoting regulations that, from what I gather, allowed the executive officer of a military vessel to relieve a commanding officer if the commanding officer was unfit for command. Mutiny? Not even. Further, Helo was proposing to go back to the fleet for the higher-ups to make a decision, had planned to report his actions to his superiors, and take his lumps for acting as he did. An action, that as far as he could know, would be defending the sole survivors of the Twelve Colonies.

Moving on to the whole "fire" thing, Anders was pointing a deadly weapon that he had shown he was willing to use on a superior officer, at a second superior officer. Further, AFAIK, he was the mutineer at the moment. As a final damning indictment, no one else had so much as gone for a gun before he fired his. Just to top things off, he's on the bridge of the vessel, with not-bulletproof critical equipment, aiming at said irreplaceable equipment. FFS, at what point would you take this action?

In addition, once the crisis was over, Starbuck even admitted she shouldn't be taking the entire crew on a fool's mission, just herself and Athena (and other true volunteers). She KNEW she was fucking out of line. Why she didn't come to the idea that taking a Raptor was the best plan in the first place is beyond me.

No, Helo was not the one out of line.
It's Jodan, not Jordan. If you can't quote it right, I will mock you.

I don't think Starbuck thought she was out of line really, just that she realized she couldn't take the ship, so she made a big speech about it all. Remember, she is on a MISSION, she is the CHOSEN one who knows the way to Earth...even if she can't explain it in any logical way.
