I had been at a friends house and when I came home my mother said "look at this", so I went in the living room and my family where watching CNN, I asked "Whats going on?" then I saw a clip of the first plane hitting WTC, man did that shock me.

I was at work. A co-worker told me a plane had crashed into the WTC. I assumed it was a small propeller plane, and kept thinking about the bomber that had crashed into the Empire State Building.
CNN.com and every news site I tried wouldnt come up. Eventually I got cnn to come up and there was a picture of the NY skyline with only one tower standing. I remember being in shock. I literally couldnt fathom the towers actually coming down.
Try to work, checking the net every 5 seconds. Walk into the break room full of people where the TV is going and the second tower had just fell. I just stood there and finally managed to say "BOTH towers fell?"
People couldnt even talk, they just nodded their heads.

I was in biology class, it was almost over, and a teacher came in and mentioned it to my teacher. Then he turned on the news.

I was walking to school with a friend, and he mentioned that an airplane or two had hit the WTC. He thought it was a DC-3 or similar. I thought he was kidding, then I walked into my calculus class and CNN was on.

I was at school, the news reached me in one of my morning classes. It really didn't shock me until I saw the pictures of it on TV after getting home.

On the bus to school, heard it on the radio. At first, I dismissed it as a prank, but later turned out it wasn't...

When I got up to get ready for class, I went downstairs and my brother said "Some planes hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and I'm not joking." I rushed to the TV, and saw the first tower collapse.

I was off class for the week, I has just decided what MCP to do in my course after a taster of each. I was sitting at home downloading Beautiful Garbage by Garbage and watching CNN out of the corner of my eye. I saw the second plane hit live and i immediately phoned my mate from the computer class Aidan. His dad is from Manhattan and one of his uncles was a firefighter who was in the basement when it collapsed.

I was asleep, as I worked the graveyard shift the night before. All of a sudden, at around 9AM PST she runs into our room and says: "Honey, we are inder attack! As we don't watch TV, my sis-in-law called my wife all the way from Mexico to tell her that two planes had smashed against the WTC, however, my first thought in between jumping all groggy out of bed to turn on the TV was "FUCK! Where did the nuke hit?????" Then I saw it. Fucking terrorists suck ass.

Sitting in my military history class at school, my schools principal came by to tell us, small school. That was around the time of the second plane impact, since a quickly switched on radio was just finishing announcing it had happened.

My radio woke me up in the morning as usual at 7:00, where the local morning show was talking about how a plane had hit the WTC. I turned the TV on about five minutes before the second plane hit.

I was still asleep, it was very early here in CA. My radio was playing the new reports and I was half dreaming half sleeping hearing about a plane hitting a tower. The reporter was frantic and I thought that guy needs to calm down. A plane crashing into a control tower is bad, but not this bad. As I came out of my slumber I realized they were talking about the WTC.
When I saw a replay of the first hit, I realized it was a terrorist incidient caues I saw the shillouete of the aircraft and there was not way it was an accident.
I dont remember know if I saw the second hit live or not. It all anyone talked about at work, my boss told us he did not expect any work from us and if we were upset we could go home.

I'm lying in bed when the phone rings. It's my mom, she gabbles something about the country being under attack by terrorists. I stagger up, throw my robe on, and flip on CNN just in time to watch the second tower fall. I sit there like a zombie until around noon, when I think to turn on the radio and catch some Howard Stern, who had stayed on past his usual finishing time.
Anyway, by two or three in the afternoon I had talked to a few friends. I went and picked up this one girl whom I didn't know that well, but shared a mutual friend with. We drove down to the local Red Cross office to try and give blood, but people were lined up out the door and we were actually turned away. I didn't mind though, it just felt good to get away from the TV, get out on the street and do something in reaction, no matter how small.
A day or two later I was at the local mall, and the atmosphere was hard to describe. This was Pearl Harbor, this was war, as soon as we figured out who to kill. Flags everywhere, TV crew in the food court interviewing people... And it had been so quiet lately with no planes going over. A couple of fighters, that was it. The first time I saw or heard an airliner after 9/11, I swear it was passing behind an American flag at half-mast as I looked over. It was... memorable.

Oh, and no more than a day or two later I told anyone who would listen that Saddam was done for. "But what if he didn't do it?" Told them it wouldn't matter. By the time all was said and done, I knew we'd end up in Iraq.
