DO NOT attack the enemy ships. You will get your ass kicked, hard. Run far (you're in an inertialess ship, you can do it with ease). have your escorts take out the enemy one by one. Then land on the planet. Read your objectives!

The other way is to use your burner to plow through the enemy fleet and then land ASAP on the planet.

Finished the Veli-os thingy storyline now. Do I have to start again before I can touch the others?

God this game is addictive...

Does anyone know where to get QLLTs? Buying ammo for my Storm Chaingun is annoying. I tried Earth, Rauther, Glitech and Altair many a time.

Okay. Time for the daily report.

My IDA Frigate is still in a savegame, but as it's working for the Fed's and getting shot by 6-8 Abominations upon booting up, that's not really an option. Three I can handle, thanks to the steaming piles of burning Justice she can put out, but six overwhelm me.

My new game went well. I saved up, via missions, trading, and mining, buying myself a pimpship in the form of an Excalibur. I cruised around and did stuff for a while, added on two turret guns and some extra energy stuff(Four solar panels and a battery) for a while, before taking the Vell-os mission by mistake. Now I'm a slave of the Feds in a pimptastic Excalibur, Privateer Upgrade, running equipment for a Rebellion I will crush, the poor bastards who I wish I could save!

Why? Why is this?

*points to his co-pilot, Tevar* Women's Intuition here demanded I go find out what they wanted on New England.

Anyway, this game kicks ass. Immensely. I may well buy a copy for me to play.

Tevar doesn't want one, just the right to be my backseat driver.

Could you try afterburning out of range and attempt to pick them off if you've got railguns?

Be warned: you will lose that pimped-out Excalibur. I had one too (and it was a fine Pirate Excalibur with many an upgrade). You'll first get the Vellos Fighter, which is not bad, but eventually you'll have the Javelin, which just rocks. Still, you may want to switch to a more conventional craft later. Keep this in mind.

I must have made Ambrosia a decent amount of money :D

I think you have to enter the Federation campaign or buy a ship with them built-in. Besides, how much ammo could you possibly be using up with the Stormfire? I have four of the things and took on packs of gunboats without running out!

She wields the might of three Medium Blasters!

...Yea, it's pathetic, but she shits out a continous stream of hot, steaming Justice.

It's a download(Albeit a hefty one), with a registration code. No expensive shipping(I think).

And yes, it sounds wrong. It's supposed to. Goddammit, a IDA frigate has it's turret on it's ass, what should I think when it grunts and this flaming mass burns through an Abomination?!?!

My main character is a bit of a pirate hunter/salvager (carry a lot of marines, hang around battles to pick up disabled ships, blow up any pirates I see, etc), and has so far aquired a pirate Manticore (4 medium blasters, several medium turrets, 4 ion cannons, Hellhound missiles, and about 6 marine platoons), 3 pirate Enterprises (I've probably sold 5-6 other ones I've captured before), and a Fed RAGE Gunboat. I'm doing ok, but I haven't done many missions and I need access to bigger guns.

In my other game, I quickly amassed over 70 million Credits, a Mod Starbridge (loads of Sigma outfits) and a captured starbridge escort. Still no access to the Heavy Blasters and other advanced weapons people are mentioning, but I can freely travel in Polaris space and can buy their unarmed ships (rather tempting).

I also found one of the easiest ways to amass money (maybe I should keep this to myself):

Once I aquired maybe 200,000 from running equipment and medical supplies to and from Kania and Altair (with Terrapin escorts), I went to Sol, did a Sigma mission or two to get access to their big ships (Pegasus and Leviathan), then stared buying Luxury items on Europa and selling them on Earth, keeping enough cash in reserves to pay the 7.2K per day fees for 6 Terrapins (so about 20K or so each run). Once I got alot of money, I switched to Pegasus and later Leviathans.

With 6 Leviathans I was paying over 700K just for them to land on Earth or europa, but considering I was filling over 24,000 tons of space with Luxury Items, which I was making about a 275 credit/ton profit on, I was making about 5.2 million in profit per in-system trip. Not bad, I think.

I thought of buying a Polaris Cambrian to use as a warship, once I get bored of my current one, since with some armor and weapons space, it might serve better than a Leviathan as a sturdy weapons platform...

Oh, and while I'm at it I should mention that now more than ever I really, really *really* want to work on a Star Wars mod for EV: Nova for Windows. I've got a quick list of a minimum of 40 new ships in my head, and the game is really supportive of mods (or plug-ins, as they specifically refer to them) from what I've heard. The big issue would be finding moddelers, artists, and people to write up all the descriptions (I could do a lot, though).

But damn, think about it: you could side with the Imperials, go underground with the rebels, join pirates, bounty hunters, go to Hutt space, the Hapan Empire, the CSA, the Chiss, etc. Buy all kinds of laser cannons, light, medium, and heavy turbo lasers, topedoes, YT-1300s, X-Wings, Z-95s, capture TIEs or get blown up by Imperators, etc, etc, etc.

Well. I got my first attack mission. My big bad cruiser got it's ASS KICKED. My escape pod threw me far. Now I'm stuck in a tiny shuttle.

How are people getting Darts? I apparently have the power to make them, but..

EDIT: I have Darts. Now I have Arrows. Time? It's 3:14 AM. Me and Tevar have been watching.. In awe.. As the Arrow rocks the house. Pirates? *BZZZZZZZZT* Enemy Fleet? VASHOOM! Ten systems away! No problems.. Except now I need to register. Curses! Maybe I can find thirty bucks in my next paycheck.. I hope you don't need a credit card, for that would suck..

Agh stupid Vellos story crap LOL! At least they didn't take my hot-rodded Starbridge away. Now I'm just exploring for the hell of it since I can't buy anything anymore. 4 Solar Panels+6 Jump Range+Autocharger=Phun!

Tip: IF you aren't playing strict, an escape pod is just a waste of money, since you can just go back to your last save game.

Don't believe a word of it, we was flying around in the Dart, turning pinwheels, s-curls, and if the game was 3-d, he'd have been doing loops with that little ship, all the while exclaiming "This is Cool!" "This Rocks!" and other words indicating how wicked he found that little ship. :P

Do the missions, and when they send you for an attack with escorts, go to Earth and check the bar, I think. Or just land. You'll learn a ship that makes that Starbridge seems like a rusted old Camaro next to a fully loaded Ferrari.

Myself as well.

Look on the bright side. In another game, I'm facing that mission as a Feddie. Feddie's don't get the l33t little Space Camaro Of Doom.

Definitely buy the full version. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't capture escorts (and gain free cargo space!!), and sell extra Starliners and Enterprises for 60-80K each.
