I've never fired a gun but would somewhat like to try a sniper rifle.
I have made deliveries involving 9mm (from a military base) and a couple of rifles (from the RCMP armoury).

Yes, I have successfully operated firearms.
- Fired a .410 shotgun with 000 buckshot. Managed to hit rather small targets.
- Fired a .22 rifle. Very easy to fire, managed to hit targets at the relatively young age of 11 or 12.

And I'm a decent shot. Though I'll leave the shooting to my fiance, I think, whose had more practice than I.
A 20 gauge? You do realize that the smaller the number, the bigger the gun. Like a .410 shotgun isn't nearly as big as a 10 gauge shotgun.
BTW, a single barrel 20 gauge is going to give more recoil than a semi-automatic.

All I know is my shoulder smarted for a while after firing that thing. If a semiauto gives less, that's great.
And the 20 gauge is but a welping little puppy compared to the 12 gauge shotgun. And the .410 has practically no kick at all.

However, there are time and money constraints which keep me from doing this in the near future.
If you're ever in my area (Southwestern Indiana) give me a call. I'd be glad to take you to the range or the wooded area where I shoot my long guns.
The shop I go to even rents subguns (MP5SD, Uzi, Colt 9mm) for use on their range only.
Plinking at cans or other targets is a family activity down here.

Back when I was about 4, my Dad took me out, and I fired his gun a bit, he was real safe about it. I fired at a Milo tin about half a football field away.

Yup.
Fired a .22 target pistol (a breeze to fire), a pair of identical palm-sized .22 pistols (kicked like hell, too small for my hand (slide sometimes hit my hand), had a really high pull, and were poorly made/maintained--the damned slide popped off on each of them once during the shooting session!), a 9mm Glock, and a 9mm Ruger.
On a previous occasion, I went trap shooting with a friend, used his double-barrel shotgun, and actually scored higher than he did with his pump shotgun (it was my first time ever firing a real gun, and he had been trap shooting before...).
Haven't been shooting since, though, and I don't own a gun of my own. I'm generally unaware of local (Washington State) laws about guns.

Yes. Unfortunatly i can't talk about the circumstances because board rules prevent us from talking about illegal activities.

Same here, friends come over, we'll go out back, bust some clay pigeons and tin cans, just have fun.
