The fact that despite having only 20% of the population unionized numerous benifits are standard in most employment agreements. Things like sick days, vacations, etc. I fail to see why corporations would grant concessions like these, you know things that help your family life at the expense of corporate profit, but not overtime pay if the average worker demands it.[/color=yellow]

And you refuse to accept that condition #2 exists because of your abysmal ignorance of how labour relations work. Even after several of your ridiculous claims about the nature of labour negotiations were shot down with clear examples, you simply ignored them and doggedly soldiered on with your assumptions about how it should work. People who dismiss observation in favour of personal theory are not just being unscientific; they're being idiots.

Stupid bullshit like that is PRECISELY why you should use the quote feature. If you don't like the quotes going several deep, don't make them go several deep. It's not like you could possibly make them go several deep with your system, so you're obviously not going to be missing any functionality if you use the real system and then never go more than one quote deep.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Franky I don't understand what is so damn important about the quote feature. Do you not understand how quotation marks work? Is not abundantly clear what Mike says and what I say?

As far as me making typos and generally doing a half-assed job ... that will happen regardless. A good post for me has fewer typos than I have fingers.

Seriously if bothers you that much just have Mike give me a title like "Too stupid to quote properly" or bring it up in every damn thread I post in ... whatever gives you jollies.
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Different people use different views on the board. Not using the quote feature makes it harder for some folks to read. Not everyone can easily see the difference between the text styles. It is a question of courtesty and board ettiqete.

Not when you fuck up the color tags, it isn't.

And since the color scheme is harder to read when you fuck shit up, maybe you should steer clear of it, if you're planning on fucking shit up often.

Actually, I think you should get the custom title "Communist," because I think that would be funny. But that's neither here nor there.

tharkûn wrote: I despise the bloody quote feature it gets damn annoying when the quotes go several deep. I used to use the standard accepted english symbol for quotes, namely quotation marks. People bitched, I switched to italics. People bitched about the italics so now I'm using the same exact scheme you use for the webpage. Is nothing acceptable except that hideous quote feature? Call it an irrational question of taste but I simply hate the stupid thing
Look you retarded little piss monkey, did you ever once learn how to edit?. Snip those items that you are not replying to. You claim to be at university, yet you lack the english skills of a 15 year old? I think not. I am trying to read this thread because it is interesting, and you do not make it easy, and that is starting to seriously fuck me off. Stop acting like a petualant child and try to act like an adult when faced with a more than reasonable request.

This gets back to my initial question ... what is so bloody hard about using quotation marks? Which text settings are uniform with various skins?

If it weren't for overtime I would have lost my car. My brother is STILL paying off his student loan at Usery Rates. and I look at this economy and I think of how things were much, much worse a century ago, when little kids lost their arms working on assembly lines for 14 hours a day, there was no overtime, no child labour laws, no workman's compensation, or social security. People could be charged more for the food, shelter & goods that the company provided (at company owned stores), nessary to survive they they got paid at the end of the week.

As per UN/Amesty international slavery still exists despite it being banned a long time ago. and these short term mind set business fucks want to increase profit by continuing to cut "costs" even beyond the level of safety and basic respect.

Also Tharkun have you noticed the part where I said the bush proposal DOESN;T effect me just yet, but I still felt it was important. Yes, I am a union member, I have pay protection, protection from unjust dismissile, overtime and break pay written into the contract, I have medical coverage written into the contract. No the other trick is to work people either salary with massive hours or very short hours and give them no benefits.

My medical coverage is probably the only reason I am still alive here!, During a 3 month lay off a year or so ago, It cost me 240/month to keep my medical coverage to cover my $900/month diabetes related bills. Without my union I would be in the same boat as most other Food Service/Restaurant personell even Bartenders, using my tips (which have turned pathetic since the current ressession began) to pay for my medical coverage, and have to choose between meds and food. Hell without a union they would have just fired my GF when she got pregnant like they did my mom some 30+years ago.
