He assessed the newcomers, and decided it was safe to settle down. He elegantly slided on a chair at the table, though on the far end of the other elf.

He slides out of his booth, and sits down at the tables, next to Keenan

The barkeeps speaks up.
"Ents arn't anything special. This forest is always like that."

Malakar leans back, pulls out a small, elegantly carved pipe and begins smoking. "Well, a fortnight ago, at dusk, out near the Teilas pass, I found hundreds of elven corpses...children, men, women... a horrifying sight to be sure...but that is not the strangest thing. Try as I might, I could find no injury on ANY of their bodies. No blood, no wounds, no cracked bones, NOTHING." Malakar rubs his chin thoughtfully. "All of them were also completely naked and arranged in perfectly straight lines point west to east..And they all had a strange marking upon them, much like a tatoo, only it had a slight trace of magic that I could detect.." Malakar sighs heavily. "What caused it, I have no theories. Some ravager bands are known to slaughter hundreds of people at once and leave them totally naked and arranged in that way, but these people were not killed by normal blades and arrows.."

"Yes...I know of such spells..but it would have to be a mage of immense power to do such a thing. There are mages that powerful in my nation's service, but I know of very few human mages of such might. And no elf would have commited this atrocity." Malakar spits. "I will hunt this fiend down to the ends of the earth if I have to..." Malakar cuts himself off. "Good, my ambition is getting ahead of my senses already." Malakar seems disgusted with himself. +My char is not knowingly lying to the group...he is telling the truth as he knows it. Perhaps Alyrium can use detect magic on me to see if I am enchanted.+

At the "ki-" the barkeep slowly reaches under the bar........

"Maybe you let one live just long enough for him or her to feel the sting of your sword in their neck, I suppose? Just to have some fun, right?" Malakar draws his rapier slowly. "If you have indeed killed children, then it is my duty to either kill you or turn you in to my nation." Malakar growls threatening, and stands up slowly.
"Say you haven't slaughtered innocents, and I shall let you go. But I WILL be watching you closely.."

The barkeep pulls a loaded crossbow out from under the bar and points it at Dahak.

Malakar holds the tip of his rapier at Keenan's throat, obviously waiting for an answer. Malakar sees the barkeep out of the corner of his eye, and shakes his head ever so slightly 'no'.

His body convulsed into a series of powerful shakes and he fought back tears.
