Vasquez grabbed herself a cup of coffee, then seated herself.

Dr. Allen was a little busy guzzeling down the rest of the coffee and putting another pot on.

"Guten tag." He said with a quick jittery nod

You notice now that a fair time has passed, the moment is almost at hand for your briefing with the base commander down on level 27...

*looks up at the clock*

"We should go, it's time."

Leah finished off his coffie, and then heads for the briefing room.

Connar glanced up and rose from the chair with a slight nod, drawing his cap from out under his arm to place neatly around his head. Quickly he dusted and straighted his uniform, giving a glance to the clock on the wall before looking back to his team

"I believe we have somewhere to be Sg-4"

He inwardly grinned at the designation and made his away around the table to cross the distance to the door of the mess and head out to make his way to level 27

Vasquez rose as swiftly as she had sat and downed the rest of the coffee before turning to follow the others to the briefing room on level 27..

Dr. Allen chugged down the rest of the 2nd pot of coffeee and followed(I would think his esophagus would be immune to the thermal efects by now)

As you all enter the briefing room you see General Hammond talking to an aide, he looks over.
"Take a seat people, I'll be just a moment."

Dr. Allen takes a seat

"Yes sir."

He offered a salute once he entered the room and held it for a moment before lifting off the cap to set on the table and draw out a chair to settle down in

Vasquez marched in last, snapped a quick salute, and sat down. "Staff Sergeant Angelina Vasqeuz, USMC, reporting for duty."

Hammond returned the salute and continued talking to the aide for a moment more before walking over to the head of the table and taking a seat.
"Welcome to your first briefing SG-4, I take it you've all had time to get accquainted and read the basic breifing material about the programme?"

"Indeed sir. It still seems somewhat incredible to me that all this has happened this quickly, reletively speaking of course." A little famrgirl from Mexico going to another planet..how fun. thought Vasquez, and she smiled faintly at the thought.

"Memorized Sir.....I also find it difficult to believe that this...really does exist but the proof is there it would seem"

"Indeed it is, but trust me son, all you need do is look through that window to see all the proof. Private," the general looked over to the aid, "the briefing papers." The younge enlisted man took a bundle from the table and placed a single copy in front of each person at the table.

"It has been memorized sir. Then I created a heavly encrypted copy... hehe encrypted into sandskirt then into 1337speak... then saved into my secure linux partition."

"Yes sir."

*I look at the brefing data*

"I have a feeling we will find out soon enough for ourselves Sir"

Connar reached out with a hand to invert the document sitting before him until it was facing the right direction and examined the front cover curiously before he opened the front of it to start looking through them

Vasquez opened the document, scanning each line mechanically and hardwiring it into her mind.

"For your first assignment we want you to take a look here, at P3X-243, we just got these images from the MALP telemetry there and it looks like a promising sight for gathering information about the Goa'uld. If you will take a look at the pictures on page two..."

The general turned to that page in his own papers, which contained a picture of what at first glance looks like an overgrown rain forest. After a moment of looking at it, it becomes clear that the vines and undergrowth are concealing half melted stone ruins of a city that stretches out far from the Stargate itself.

"Recon and intel gathering? "

He nodded and examined the papers once more, flicking through them

"Are there any natives on planet that we should be aware of?"

"Interesting, any power signs?"

"This should be fun"
