Yeah...Atton is a helluva a lot better.

Bao Dur...and well others, well it's interesting what Influence can do to almost everyone but the droids and Kreia.

If you have high enough Repair and Comp skills you can make T3 into one bad ass firepower droid.

And oh yeah...on Dantooine you get the best fucking crystal there is. Doing all the miniquest is worth it.

And yes, this game rocks...much more then number 1. KoTOR 1 was fun, no doubt of it...but this one is everything and more...just doesn't(so far anyway) have the ultra killer twist.

Sounds good, I cannot wait till Feb. (Bastards, even though they said it will be the same game for the PC, my hopes are that they will throw in a few extra crystals as they did with the original for the PC)

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the twist. I have an idea for what it should be, but I'm pretty sure it won't be what I'm thinking (it'd be too cool).

This game is awesome because it takes so much time. I'm sure you could rush through it in 24 hours or so, but I'm at 40 hours and only about halfway through (I'm getting every sidequest I can).

Other recent awesome games have been disappointing in this regard. Fable, even if you spend all the damn time in the world on your game, won't take you more than 30 hours. Half-Life 2's length was a joke, and if it weren't for Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike (either of which was worth the price of the game), I'd be seriously pissed at Valve.

On the other hand, the length and awesomeness of this game piss me off. I just wasted a three day weekend on this game. I'm about to go to bed after being awake for over thirty hours, all of which were spent playing KotORII. I didn't even eat until just a few minutes ago. I also neglected to go to the movies with this girl, play poker with some friends from work, visit my parents, pay off a traffic ticket, and pick up my paycheck, all of which I was supposed to do this weekend. Oh well, there's always next weekend.
And I'm not one of those hardcore Everquest-style gamer geeks, either. This weekend was the most addicted I've ever been to a game.

BEAT IT

Oh yeah few discoveries.

1. Depending on Man or Woman you can recruit a different character.

2. Depending Light or Dark you can recruit a different character.

3. The ending definitly point to a sequel.......above and beyond anything KoTOR 1 every touched upon.

4. The did improve guns in this one. There are some fucking nasty rifles and pistols. Lightsabers are King don't get me wrong but they at least addressed the gun issue.

5. Light and Dark are only similar in situations...seriously. You can do a shit load of little things that differ between the two.

6. In the end...I had three women coming after me...I am obviously the sexiest man in the SW universe. No pussy ante Skywalker wondering about chicks. Technically I had five coming after me...but that would be spoiling the story.

7. (minor Spoiler) Depending how you answer in the beginning determines how the rest of the Revan points flow...especially near the very end.

8. Lightsaber styles matter...oh they matter on Hard...so MUCH so. And when learn which does what...you can be take blaster shots like a bitch...or becoming the untouchable god of SW.

9. They made MANY differences in class. Literally different innate force powers, and for presitge even more.

10. Aside from shit on the Ebon Hawk...you can have OTHERS do shit you can't do. Let's say you want to make weapons or shit but suck at abilities...go outside, find a desk...USE the character who is uber in that skill and viola.

Anything more would be spoilers but influence rocks, and honestly the game has a great feel about itself and really I like the new bad guy's warship...though it's a bit........well a bit too close to a modern looking vessel regardless of the condition.

And honestly I wasted....easily 55+ hours on this...and I'm the RPG type that when I find a game I like I don't let go, for days.

This game goes beyond what I expected for a sequel in both story and just fun. That and no whiny bitchy "I-smolder-with-generic-rage" Carth. Hell the women are better then Bastilla and really when they give you lip, it's honestly shit loads better how the react with you.

Did they try with the kissing, or did they just do the tasteful fadeout? :)

Anyway, do you personally still have to have a repair skill to upgrade droids, like HK 47 in the first game?

Still fade out.

Yes, but only for T3. HK is upgraded now with parts you can buy, and no matter how low your repair skill is you can install them.(there is a piece called a pacifist Protocol...BUY THIS...it is by far one of the BEST HK scenes :D ) And actually in a couple of cinema, another character who's an expert mechanic actually does some upgrades for the droids anyways.

Also...you only need a little repair to get T3 to show a okay cinema that relates to the first game.

Also there are shitloads more stuff to upgrade skills this time around as well. So as long as you put probably 3-4 points throughout the entire game and equip yourself right before fiddling with T3, you'll get his secret holo message. The rest is just upgrade gravy to make him a little bit better, though at the end of it you get a sorta new power with him and you on the same team.

On a related note, anyone play the Republic Commando demo yet?

Plays okay...though the gun fire is a bit puny...will have to try out more, though apparently the squad actually has a use and it's not one Uber trooper versus the Seperatists.

Mind you it's short and honestly I didn't die once regardless of my insane gung nature...my men sought cover...screw that...Health is everywhere on that level.

Looks interesting and at least plays pretty nice.

It was kind of disappointing (much more arcadish than I had hoped it would be), but looks like it'll be okay nonetheless. That I'm definitely waiting for on PC. I cannot stand FPS with a gamepad; it's sacreligious.

Hrm. Will there be a PS2 version? I'll get that. If not, PC.

Of KotOR II? No, XBOX/PC only. But I think Republic Commando is coming out on PS2 and Cube.

Woo. The PS2 is my preferred FPS platform.

Actually, looks like I was wrong. Lucasarts.com is only showing XBOX and PC for Republic Commando.

Hah. I'll have you know that I have XIII, HL, OpFor, Blue Shift and all the others on the PC. My first ever FPS was Goldeneye, however, so I still have a soft spot for consoles.

Holy Fuck!!! Not to derail the thread any further, but have any of you seen this? It's a video of a playtester playing through a level of Republic Commando (quicktime, streaming). The game looks fucking sweet. Looks like my problem was I just didn't know what I was doing. This game is going to be awesome.

Now I'll go play some more KotOR II so that I'll have some more on-topic things to say in here.

Split the thread for the large spoiler points.

As for Republic Commando....the video was better then demo.

For PC I'll probably get after I get Half Life 2(likely for Christmas).

LUKE: Vader. Is the dark side stronger?

YODA: No...no...no. Quicker, easier, more seductive.
Well again that green toad is shown to be quite the liar.

After playing with the various classes a bit, I started up a Jedi Guardian and kept him on the lightside of the force. This game was pretty tough, my main character fell several times in battle and was only saved by Keira.

So I started up a Consular (despite the "warning" that it was for advanced players) and pushed into the darkside. Well, so far nothing has even begun to challenge me. Enemies that were challenging with my goody-goody Jedi Guardian are little more than minor incoviences before they are reduced to a twitching pile of scorched flesh.

I like the lightside's altruistic dialogue, but I like the power of the darkside too.

I haven't played KOTOR 2 yet (waiting for the PC version), but what levels are you at the end of the game?

I seem to recall someone in this thread saying that the level cap was at level 40.

This is what I have read on other messageboards...

After level 50 you encounter a glitch that screws you back to 1st level...

BUT!

Since there is a finite amount of XP in the game (aside from glitches) the highest level you can reasonably achieve is 28th.
