How about a quadruple blade lightsaber?

A *real* Jedi lightsaber duel - or several if possible. Between real actors who are young and physically fit - as in Ep1. Not a series of rapidly spliced together scenes between an eighty year old guy and a digital construct.

Which is why they need to get some Asian guys.

Jet Li=badass Jedi.
Donnie Yen=badass Sith.

- Another vote for Tarkin!
- A Jedi being struck down and disappearing (give Mace a cool end please; cheating whoever kills him...Dookhu? Anakin?) with Yoda explaining to Obi-Wan about passing into the force (for those of us who've only seen the films and not read the EU stuff) setting up Obi-Wan for ANH. Also why Qui-Gon did not!
- Somewhere in the picture the Jedi (Yoda, Mace et al.) realize who is behind everything but also realize that it is too late for them: the Jedi order is crushed!
- Amidala finally getting fed up and killing the Viceroy (how many times does he get to try to kill her!) hopefully dressed like Leia was on Jabba's barge in ROTJ. Gives her something to do other than look pretty...
- Boba Fett's gotta do something nasty to the Jedi as payback; not kill Mace, but set up something that causes the Jedi a lot of hurt.
- A rematch of Anakin vs Dookhu, this time like the Sith vs Sith in the CGI flick "Duality" (check it out on the web!) so that Anakin can take Dookhu's place as Sidious' apprentice.
- One GIANT space battle to end all space battles, with a planet (Naboo?) slagged by the winners (empire) as an example to those that would destroy the republic! Take care of Jar-Jar at the same time!
- Amidala's horrified reaction to the fact that her husband is a genocidal maniac (although she should've realized that in AOTC) and her decision to take the kids (if they've been born yet) and run.
- Why Vader knows he has a son, but doesn't know he has a daughter and how Leia can remain safely anonymous. Also why Vader doesn't come for Luke earlier (c'mon, they hid him with ANAKIN'S stepbrother for crying out loud! They didn't even change his last name!)
- An Obi-Wan vs Anakin bestest ever lightsabre duel to set-up Vader's appearance. Obi-Wan should be AS GOOD as Anakin (ie. no interference or deus ex machina in the fight) This should take place when Obi-Wan helps Amidala get the kids away from Anakin.
- Yoda vs the Emperor with Yoda losing (c'mon: there's got to be some reason the little guy's hiding out on Dagobah waiting to train Luke. The Emperor displays his full awesome mastery of the Force by doing something we haven't seen before!)
- Darth Vader in cool black...

I read this in a website and I think it would rock in the movie:
"Jar Jar Binks, now a Senator who commands a quarter of the galaxy, flies in to Anakin's quarters on Coruscant. When he arrives, Anakin is in the middle of shaving. He has removed exactly half of his mustache when he accidentally cuts himself. Some of his midi-chlorian-filled blood splatters on Jar Jar, thus infecting him with The Force.
Using The Force, Jar-Jar accidentally kills several people in a series of wacky misadventures."

What about a cameo appearance by Frank Oz, the voice behind Yoda, in full person - a bit like the one Ahmed Best (the actor who voices Jar-Jar) did in AOTC?

What's to say Vader knew about his son before Luke blew the death star up and spies discovered his name?

He didn't. In Splinter of the Mind's Eye, which takes place after Yavin, he had no clue who the fuck Luke was.

I don't believe many consider Splinter a piece of continuity anyways.
And also many short stories have offered too many different ways Vader has found out.

Why not? Aren't the novels canon? Or is this one contradicted by another one?

Novels are OFFICAL...only the Movie novels, and radio Dramas are the only other pieces of CANON...and still can be superceded by the MOVIES.
Unlesscontradicted they are considered nearly as good...the problem with Vader finding about Luke prior to ESB is that there are at least 5 different stories of how.

My bad. Thank you for the info.

But SotME takes place after Yavin and he DIDN'T know.

But the five others also take place at the same time...literally there are two Marvel tales and three Dark Horse tales that speak of this very same incident of how did Vader find out it was Luke Skywalker who shot the fateful shot.
Hell even WEG takes a shot at it.

I reread part of the main site, about canon materials, and aren't novels above comics? If they are, than it means the others should be disregarded, right?
Totally unrelated point: if your wife had twins, it would probably be tough to know about one and not the other, don't you think?

perhaps...but I believe that comics in the Dark Horse sense are considered as high given that they are official. Thus the Marvel stuff is not the Dark Horse stuff is.
And he never knew about his children at all...so one, two, ten it doesn't matter...he never knew he had children.

I think Alan Dean Foster wrote Splinter without Lucas letting him in on the big secret of their relationship (I'm guessing, naturally...) since it was written before TESB.
With Obi-Wan's help or without, why entrust the kid to someone connected to VADER (a tenuous connection granted, but wouldn't he follow up on all past places and people he and his wife had met, like his step-brother?) without changing his name...Does anybody know how common a name like Skywalker is in the SW universe?
Wouldn't the Emperor, who basically pushed Anakin and Amidala together, have his minions out looking for any connection to Anakin so that any possible offspring would be swept up and eliminated? Wouldn't anyone with the name Skywalker be immediately suspected?
Maybe I'm more pissed off about the fact that they go to all this trouble to get Luke and Leia away from Vader and they hide Luke with someone connected to Vader without changing his last name...It's sloppy. I can only deal with it if Vader knew he was there and didn't care (too wrapped up in the Dark Side doing Palpatine's bidding) or had his own reasons for not going after him earlier, like maybe he was plotting AGAINST his master, knowing that Luke might come in handy in taking Palpatine down later, then holy coincidence Batman, the kid who shot up my brand new battle station IS my son!
I'd just like to see this explained a bit in the movies and not in the books/materials which (honestly!) only a small fraction of the people who'll see these movies will ever read...
Maybe I'm just getting overly-exciting about the third and final movie and hope the STORY will be as good as the effects...

It's possible that they let him do the check, THEN gave Owen the kid. Vader wouldn't suspect anything.

SOTME was written before ESB, in fact I think it was written before ANH was even release in cinema. It was going to be the made for TV sequel if ANH flopped supposedly.

I picked that one up on the TFN forums. Whether it's true or not of course remains to be seen.

One has to consider the size of the galaxy and truly if one wants to go into hiding it's not hard...that and hiding things in plain sight is sometimes the best way to hide something.
Plus The Emperor probably did know and kept it secret because if he wanted another apprentice there he was...and not having Vader know...all the better.

Hell before ESB even GL didn't know that Luke and Vader were going to have that connection. In several interviews he gave at the time he had debated up until he wrote the script whether to make Vader Luke's father.
