*Rolls Drunmur's 3D+2 Perception*
You look up and down both sides of the hall slowly, trying to locate the object you thought you saw. The hall itself is silent, and the apartment ambiance is the typical muffled mix of rumbling sounds.
Suddenly you focus on a roughly square or trapezoidal black object, sitting among some trash about two meters towards you from the target apartment door. It seems to be the object you saw earlier.
((As for SAMAS, you're character is in an open-roof hanagar on one end of the spaceport. At this point your next flight is likely to leave in maybe 20-30 minutes.))

I sit up a bit, watching the figures unloading the cargo. ((Uts, feel free to do a Perception roll for me so I can see as much as possible.

))

*Rolls a 12 on Perception*
You can tell it's a large, dark grey bulk freighter, perhaps a hundred meters long and very fat. Its clunky, weathered hull makes it appear about a century old.
You can't pick up a ton of detail from the three figures, other than they seem to be brining a lot of stuff to the ship and loading it inside.

((Aw Hell, I'll bite)
Jeke gets up to take a peek at this new freighter, as there really isn't much else to do.
((FYI: I'm going into third person. It's what I kept defaulting to last time, so I figure I'll just give in to it))

Jeke notices the same events and details that Ghito does.
((Anyone want to go ahead and board up, or wait for Tycho's character to finish his little sidestory? You could also just find something to do in the meantime, as it seems he's going to be a bit descynched from the rest of the party for maybe 5-7 turns.))

Drunmur leans down towards the device, looking for any visible triggering mechanism.

by Utsanomiko
Alright, let's get a closer and careful look at this device, then. Should be fairly easy at this range and scrutiny...
*Rolls perception again*
Well, its surface is somewhat groved, probably plastic of some type, the edges curve over... straps...
It's a shoe. You've spent the last 10 seconds panicked over a ratty old black shoe. You must not be keeping yourself together well after that skooma downer, or you're really distraced and unlucky.
EDIT: Holy crap, my 4000th post. Four thousand posts and it's over a damn shoe.

Drunmur cursed again. Better not smoke a pipe before a hit...
He looked around briefly, then advanced down the hall, blaster held in front of him, until he came to room 609. Drunmur sounded the door-bell, and waited.

((May I inquire what you're doing with your helmet right now? It's not a full-faced halmet, but it's got quite a few things built into the visor, so I'm wondering if you've put it on, been carrying it by your side, or left it somewhere midly safe.))
A rather gruff voice eminates from behind the thick wooden door. "Cro-bai? Toom fara lo-bekh?!"
*Rolls Knowledge of 3D*
He's speaking Tchochet, a common regional language. You're only vaguely familiar with its tone-dependant compound words, but the question is easy enough to decipher: 'Who are you? Have some reason for being here?'

((I put it on after I finished with my skooma.

)).
Drunmur said in Basic, 'You be selling the good stuff? I got some creds if you have the goods.'

by Utsanomiko
Looks like you're pulling a Con attempt.
*Rolls 3D+2 Perception, gets a 14*
The gruff voice immediately snaps back in accented Basic. "No know what you talk about. You need to ask Ull-Meki when he not busy, he no answer questions at door!"
Even if he does beleive you're there for drug business, it seems he doesn't simply open the door for anyone dropping by.

'I need a hit now, chuktah!', Drunmur spat wetly. 'I'll pay you triple for a stick of spice!'

"So, should we see if we can get on-board now?" I say to Shir'iya.

((Sorry for the lack of play in the last couple of days. My sleeping habits have been fucked up royally recently.))
"Sure, let's go," I reply as I stand up and straighten my clothes, "just let me contact my astrodroid."
I reach into my pocket and pull out a comlink, switching it out of standby mode and call into it. "Arfive, can you hear me?"
I hear an electronic chattering of aknowledgement through the speaker from R5-X62, a used atromech droid I picked up about five months ago from a dealer in the Inner Rim.
"Arfive, we're boarding the transport now. Track this signal and get yourself on board. I'll be with an old friend so please behave." Arfive pauses in silence before giving an affirmative whistle and I switch the comlink back into standby and put it away.
"Okay, we can go now," I say turning back to Ghito. "Arfive shouldn't have a problem getting on board in a place like this. Let's see if they have any cabin seating available. I just hate aisle seating."

"I'll switch you seats, if it comes to that." I stand up and yawn, stretching quickly. I then start walking over to the terminal to board the transport.

by Utsanomiko
Checking your tickets in at the terminal goes smoothly, despite the hassle of delays and having to aquire space on another ship. You step out onto the open landing field and walk up to the ship's cargo hatch, which is now clearly the only ground-level entrance on this oversized vessel. Standing there waiting are already about half a dozen individuals- mostly humans and humanoids none too exotic or notable, while a blue-uniformed flight attendant rolls a piece of luggage onto the 10-meter square loading platform.
"If you could all stand here in the middle of the platform, I can raise it to the cargo deck and you all can be seated."
((I assume you both go ahead and do so. Kinda defeats the point of saying you'd board if you don't, eh?))
Anyway, the platform lurches off the ground and into the deck above: a caverneous hold almost the entire length of the ship, thirty meters wide, and a ceiling perhaps as much as 10 meters in height. Right now half of the hold was devoted to some sort of bulk freight; metal ingots, by the look of the crates. The uniformed man gives another direction. "Our flight will be taking off in a little more than twenty minutes. Please take your seats, everyone, while we make more preparations. Everyone steps off and the hatch is lowered back onto the ground.
By the looks of the arrangements, you've got two choices for seating class: spartan front-row, and spartan, other rows. The bare hold has been set up in a block of 4 rows of fold-out seats, taking into account no more than thirty passengers. One corner seems to be devoted to the minimal amount of luggage, while another corner has the attendants' equipment and sullpies.

Taking the sparse, utilitarian set-up, I find my seat and sit down, trying to make myself comfortable.
((Perhaps the equivilent to Spartan would be Mandalorian?))

by Spanky The Dolphin
((You wish.

This isn't some high school comic book you know.))
I feel my heart sink in my chest as I look around the cargo hold.
"Stang, I was hoping this would be a passenger freighter. Oh well, better make the best of it." I take my seat next to Ghito.

by Utsanomiko
((I described it as 'spartan' because the players are from
Earth.

))
((I also pointed out it was a fringe bulk freighter, and not simply and old-timey large passenger liner. You don't find heavy-duty tractor beams or ion cannons on the later.))
So you take your seats and wait for time to pass.

Aw what the Hell, I might as well.
Following the crowd, I get up and move towards the waiting transport.
((OK, so I'm not speaking third person. Whatever, I'll just type it as it comes to me.

))

((Ok, you go ahead and board, spotting the same basic details as Ghito and Shir'iya saw. That makes about 8-10 passengers so far)).

by Utsanomiko
((Just so everyone knows, I'll be in charge of making Shir'iya's moves for the next several weeks.))
And somehow I missed Tycho's last move. Hrmm, and here I thought he was absent. Looks like Drunmur's switching to bargaining his way in through bribery, technically. Might be more successful...))
*Rolls 3D+2 Perception*
The voice grumbles out a slow groan. "You come in and tell Ull-Meki that, and then you leave quick. Better have the creds on you, pal."
The bolt lock slides back and the door creaks open. Standing there is a scruffy-looking Shistavanen Wolfman, lightly armored and holding a bulky and short assault carbine. He looks pissed, but is taken aback by your garb for a split second.
((Combat round starts. Drunmur has initiatve; chose which of you goes first and then chose your actions. Keep in mind to announce how many actions you plan to take this round, as you receive a -1D penalty to each additional action. you don't have to prepare for reactions like Dodge or Parry, but they will add to multi-action penalties for subsequent actions. you can also target specific body regions, though that adds +1D to the base difficulty.))

by Captain tycho
Drunmur chuckles to himself as he yanks back on his carbine's trigger, aiming for the wolfman's head.

by Utsanomiko
Despite the Shistavanen's best attempt to throw himself out of the way, your point-blank blaster bolt plows into his head.
((Give me a second to write up the damage result. I'll just let you know he critical-failed, while Drunmur rolled a 24. So much for me bothering to give that guy a name or write up some non-STR and DEX stats.

))
The heavy green blaster bolt loudly burned through the air and poured its ungodly energy into the wolfman's face. The fireball was small but hot, instantly frying the entirety of his head and spraying the ashes in all directions. His body lunged backwards and dropped to the floor.
((Yeah, he's deader than spam. Makes you wonder how your 'not well-armed' targwet will fare.))
