Also, Stark has chosen France via PM.

Adrian Laguna and Weemadando, Adrian goes first. IT's a choice of Italy or Austro-Hungary.

I'm stepping down - having a lot of issues with time and net access that just landed on my plate. Sorry.

No worries. Who is stepping up to take the place?

This might take a while to find someone willing to play A/I.
And by saying that, it guarantees somebody will step up just to prove me wrong again. Unless by saying the irony is invalidated.

I don't know if theres anyone with more experience that wants weemando's spot, but if it is open I'll take it.
However, I have never played, so if you guys running this thing don't think its a good idea for a newb to step up, I'll just stay as someones padawan

I think half of the people (me included) playing now didn't know the rules till I posted them on page 1 or said they hadn't played forever/ever, anyhow. You'll probably fit in.
If you didn't catch the rules, there's a link on one of my posts back on Page 1.

Yeah thanks for that link. I gotta re-read it and study it now though if I'm a real player.

My experience doesn't even come to the point where it's been since ando has played last, but... heh. ^^;
It's been about a year since I've played, though, so if you decide to join in, I'm still rusty (and going in as a replacement for a game elsewhere and also GMing another game at same said place).

So, how long should we wait for Adrian and A_Wing to make their selections? I'm assuming the first round is to be pushed back a little bit past this weekend.

Indubitably. I figure we'll start this Sunday

So that would make A_Wing Austria? I don't see any open positions.

I thought haas mark would take Austria-Hungary. He did say that he is experienced in the game.

A-Wing Slash is left to play as the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It is part of my little challenge for him to get an A-H flag of his own

Fear the power of Austria and Hungary,
Combined
BTW, is this the right flag? I saw quite a lot that were like this, just minus the two crown insignia.
Personally, I preffer the Yellow and Black flag, but aparently thats only for the Hapsburg (Austria) half.

The one with the crowns is the naval ensign, I believe.

The one used in Dip is a red/white/red one with an insignia on it.
Our German player got his flag wrong, btw.

R/W/R with insignia sounds like the Austrian War Ensign.
Really? Everywhere I've seen has had that flag for the German Empire.

and
http://www.germanflag.us
for starters.

I wouldn't know.
But actually, in the game of Diplomacy, here is the flag used (in really teeny version):

That also appears to be the Naval Jack of the German Empire. Looks like whatever Diplomacy version you have is only correct for the fleets.

That would be the 1974 version of Diplomacy.
Also known as the original one.

The gang is all here. I figure that being the case, I'll throw up a game thread and we will be good to go shortly.
