Don't know, I haven't tried it yet, though I doubt it'll work well for me. I doubt it will be as dial-up friendly as Diablo 2.Stark wrote:I hate autoupdaters with a passion, but I admit I didn't even try.Is the MP still unstable after that patch?

Holy shit, Conjurer is fucking powerful. Right now I am in the Valley of the Kings, lvl 24, I have the Ternion Attack line, and the first two slots of the Earth Enchantment line maxed. Right now with my rare staff I have a 212 attack power, and that damage is spread out over 2.5 meter radius. Most every unit dies in a hit, and with that area of effect I can kill enemies 2 or 3 at a time. And Ternion Attack has no casting delay, so I spam it like a regular attack(its accually my LMB skill)
I also have Ramses Greeves if anyone is collecting that set.

I just downloaded the patch, and though I haven't given the game a thorough check, I read the patch fixes log and it's heavily slanted towards multiplayer.
I haven't played the game much lately, but I'm looking to spend some time making some custom maps.
I'm still using the bracers I found for that set, though I'm hoping to find the bracers for the Imperial Raiment set since I already have two pieces of that.Anarchist Bunny wrote:I also have Ramses Greeves if anyone is collecting that set.

I suspect the problem Zac, Gaius and I had last night was due to the server rather than the game itself. Saturday night (for me) or Saturday morning (for them) probably meant more people than usual playing and the server got lag issues.Stark wrote:Apparently some of the serious stability problems are being address in a patch.
Do you use MSN, or AIM?I've actually become quite fond of the game's masteries (no fire mage or clerics, warrior is actually useful, etc) and I'd be up for some MP once the game settles down. Is everyone using SP 'self sufficient' characters, so do we have some MMO style support and nuker characters?

MSN mainly, although my SDN profile is woefully out of date. Time to update!
I'm kind of surprised the masteries aren't balanced: things like 'defence' are quite difficult to use first (since no good attacks, no heal, etc) whereas something like 'nature' or 'storm' is very easy to use first. I like unbalanced systems, it's more interesting - I'm still interested to know if people play one-note chars (storm/fire, or warrior/defence) or flexible (storm/nature) or support (hunter/nature) characters.

Well, we (Zac, Stofsk, me) got to like level 5 and on our way to Leonidas... not exactly very far.Dark Hellion wrote:Is there a SD.net game yet? I think we should have a few passworded games for various level ranges.

Does everybody else find it funny that while it takes lots of strength to wear Iron greaves and armour, it takes intelligence to wear linen and silk? And the whole recreation of the marathon.
This game rocks. Easily exceeds Diablo. I actually stop and listen to the storytellers for no reason. They're not there to advance the plot, give side quests or advance the main quest, they just tell stories of Heracles, Daedalus and his son Icarus, the Trojan War and the Gods of Olympus.

Fucking buggy POS hates realtek AC'97 audio. Which something lke 99% of laptops and motherboards builtin sound uses.

Level 23 StormCaller. I've assigned ice bolt to right-click, so it'll keep casting as long as I have mana & hold the right mouse button down.
Maxed ice bolt & the 2 passives. For ~75 mana with zero cooldown, it casts 5 bolts, 30-40 cold base damage, 40-50 cold damage over time with 60% chance to penetrate enemies can go hit something else. Some chilling too.
And my hero has +50% elemental damage from wisp, +24% from aura, and about 30% from equipment all up. So for 75 mana, I'm doing 700-900 cold damage to stuff in front of me. I can empty the mana bar of ~1300 in 10-15 seconds.
This is crazy easy. Sight enemies, empty mana, drink mana potion or 2 depending on how long you need to fire for. move onto the next group of wheat requiring reaping

I think I'm now a level 15 Warrior. Gone purely Dual-wield tree with Onslaught (mmm - attack bonuses) and Dodge (just in case). Thus far I've been killed 3 times. Once when I got gang-fucked by a massive train of Centaurs back when they were hard to kill, and twice by the Unique Limos boss which the Spartans had barricaded in the ruined temple near Athens. That bitch would just hit me twice and I'd be down due to his life-drain attacks.

Seems like many builds are really easy: I've gone ranger, and at l15 I'm basically invincible, running around healing myself and pulling agro so the wolves can eat everything. Due to the lack of nuke spells (dammit) I never run out of mana, but it takes a while to kill things.
That unique Limos was so disappointing - I expected some phat lute and nothing. Bah. 'Running in circles while my wolves eat him' worked fine for me - he even kept running back to his start spot like a Megaman boss.

Might give it another go now that the crack's out. Where can I find it?
